hi, i am new to the forum and for my first post, i would like to ask my first question. hope you guys can give me some pointers.

almost all seo sites said that "content is king". how much article do i have to write ? 25, 50, 100, 1000?
i am writing most of my articles and i am at around 25 articles. i do not know how much longer i can keep writing it myself. and once i have the content, what should i do next to rank ?

thank you,
ales

Writing content for your website is a continuing process that never really stops. It's not about writing a lot of articles and uploading them all at once. It's rather providing value to your clients through articles throughout the whole time your website is running. When you've reached a certain amount of articles and you believe you've covered the general information about your topic, then you can start scheduling a couple of posts every week to keep the fresh content going in.

And a important thing, it takes time to google trust your content... The first ones so....

So I think 6 months and constant update is something you must expect to see any results...

i just got retrenched and i am jobless now so i thought i would start a website and working on it at home. i hope i can see results in 6 months else i am doomed. lol

all of my articles writing are written without keyword targeting in mind. i just write what i feel like writing, if i have really good content and unique. do i really need to watch our for keyword targeting ?

You should target some keywords to place good rank in SERP and you know that content is a king but without keywords content won't be a king( lol )

Check out other money making methods on BHW. There are many in the journeys section.

Content marketing takes time. You'll need to publish content periodically for a long time until you see results.

Although content is king - if nobody 'knows' about your content, then it is useless content nonetheless, even though if it is a good content.
Thus, there are ways to make your content known - through social media or simply build links in the process, these will get your content recognized by the search engine.
30 articles with appropriate length is a good starter - don't stop there, I think increasing it to 100 would be a good number.

thanks guys for all the great tips! luv ya!

Comes down to a few things.

How long is each article you write?

If you aren’t targeting any keyword or any topics people want to read about then you probably won’t get any traffic.

If you’re expecting to make an income within the next six months to a year to replace your job, then you’ve already lost. You need to spend money to be found online. plus, once targeting keywords and content people want to read it needs to be SEO optimized to rank in google which could take a year. Maybe more maybe less.

Better of finding a job and keeping this on the side until it grows.

are you serious! how am i suppose to write that many!

30k words.

So 30 x 1k word articles

I have about 23 on mine. Average length 1k words. My traffic is now growing but a lot of that is due to my own marketing on forums, etc.

my articles are around 700 words to 1k words and i commit myself to write like 2 articles a day. it is all about running and health. i am not sure if i am allowed to share my site here. a few guidance would be great after seeing my site.

Do you its depends on the keyword competition? Suppose you want to get the rank on that keyword and your competitor write a good and great post on that keyword? So what should you do at this moment? Obviously you should write the longer article with maintaining Quality of the article.

first of all, how do i know which keyword i should choose to target? when i look at my competitors article (its great) but i do not know what keyword that article is targeting. any free tools that you guys use to find out ? and as i compare my articles (i know mine is better, :p)

sorry for any noob questions.:(

I'm always starting my sites with ~100 000 words. I'm always making informational articles without any product links to be at least 10% of the total count if not more. The bigger the keyword, the larger article I have. For some keywords, I have 7000-word articles but for smaller ones, like 100-500ms I'm not using more than 1500 words. For filler articles, like how-to and other informational, I'm using at least 500 words to 1000 words.

700 to 1k word count is a good start. But increase it later. Also, keep maintaining your contents as highly informative, that would be converted for more visitors to your blog. All the best for your journey :)
