How would you monetize free untargeted traffic?

Hello All,

Let's assume that I can have 1000 real human visits to my website for only a few cents. The visitors are of course highly untargeted and don't stay long on the page.

I have had a lot of difficulties to find a way to monetize this traffic source. Thus, I tried CPM banners, push notifications, boost my statistics, ... without any real success (low profit at best).

In my situation, what would you do to monetize (almost) free untargeted traffic?

Smartlink from crakrevenue or adgatemedia , use it as popunder, and cpa offers will be targeted to users location, language and device

Using a smartlink is indeed something I'm gonna try but I don't expect a lot of profit from it (but will still test).

Regarding popunders, I have been thinking a lot about it recently and was wondering if there is a way to force users to click (or simulate a click since the visitors from my source don't click often enough) to trigger a popup/popunder (from popads, propeller...) each time someone visits my page?

I'm pretty sure that there is an arbitrage opportunity with such a cheap traffic source but can't find one profitable enough!

If they aren't even clicking, 301 redirect to some offer would obviously be best.

I wouldn't get involved in click fraud.

Just make the message very simple , so it applys to everyone.

Use some kind of popup (like us on facebook, privacy policy, cookies policy, etc) that hides content on your website, all visitors will click to close it and then your popunder will fire up

Maybe create a landing page for a Chrome extension or offer with a button to the destination page? This gives you the option to include various CPM ads, but you need need to use a variety of types. Think popups, popunders, slide out ads, and sticky banners.

Look at A-Ads (instant approval) and RUNative (no requirements) for CPM payments. If you want to use CPC ads, look at AdHitz ($0.14 per click or more.)

Search for FIndDIY / WebAdCode for ad code script you can use. Propeller Ads direct links are ideal for the popup and popunder script.

These scripts will not be blocked by ad blockers.

I tried dekadent30's suggestions. No success with the fake privacy disclosure popup. Then I used smartlinks and had a positive ROI (very low however) but I earned only a few cents overall so I stopped, not worth it. Now I'm putting CPM banners and had a ROI of 100% at the beginning but obviously my CPM is decreasing since the quality of my traffic is bad. I will let it run a few more days to see how it goes and then probably stop this journey and focus on other projects involving better quality traffic.

I have been thinking of selling this human low quality traffic instead of using it myself since I can't really earn much of it and some people might be interested to boost their stats but then again I'm not sure whether I want to deal with low $5 orders + customer service and so on ...

So I will keep moving and work on a different project. Thanks anyway for the help!

it’s untargeted traffic .. but where is the source? if it’s real visitors they’re coming from somewhere. Find the root interest / niche of the traffic source and think of an offer / email capture / whatever to sell or get them.

If it’s just a few cents, are you sure they’re all real? I’d install some analytics and check technology and networks.. see if it’s all data center / cloud traffic or residential ISP. It might not all be as real as you think ..
