I have now spent five days trying to update details with PayPal. Every time I try to update I get and error message "Something seems to have gone wrong

We're experiencing some technical difficulties. Please try again later."

They don't answer emails and I'm fucking sure the call centre is a money making racket. On hold for over an hour till you flip you lid and hang up, with a lovely little phone bill for fuck all. Fuck you PayPal.

Your gaypal account country and the ip address (country) you are accessing from, are they the same?

No. I have tried using a VPN though. Does it make a difference? I opened the account from here (Spain) but using my UK address and details.

I get that same message whenever I try to log into paypal using the phone app. Paypal sucks man :(

I fucking hate PayPal. It makes zero sense. Freezes account for no reason and can't change details when moving abroad. The only reason I use it its because its the thing that everyone uses in this world.

I could happily walk in the PayPal offices and punch the living fuck out of somebody. How the fuck they get away with running this shambolic shit hole of a business, I will never know.

It is the reason for that "something occurred" error message. Happened to me as well.

When they answer your call, they'll tell you that was the reason. And do some magic from their end. And it will magically work :D

I change my phone number just by calling them. From UK to other country. That's the only way

Twice I have now rang and stayed on hold for over an hour. Till I convince myself that this is what they actually want, and it's a phone call scam. They are absolute fucking bellends.

Because they had zero competition back in the day and Paypal used to be pretty fucking good in the early days. Zero bureaucracy, I don't even recall using a real ID or bank account. It was a cheap way to trade stuff online when the WWW was simple and small. Now it is what it is. Their phone support seems to work well though, at least in my last interactions it went fine.

I was about to go crazy when they blocked my paypal because I was travelling from Bulgaria to Macedonia (and vice versa). I told them that I have dual citizenship and that I am ready to provide them the information needed. Their answer was that if I want to have Macedonian paypal I need to register one from THERE and use that one. And I was like, okay, knowing the fact that I can not open Macedonian paypal to receive funds (with MK paypal you can only send payments but can't receive) and that I want to have the Bulgarian one. The result was a permanent ban because I was using the paypal OUTSIDE the borders of Bulgaria.

You can't travel if you want to use paypal :D

Maybe I'll try ringing at 3am or so. Because the past two calls have been mind numbingly pathetic.

The biggest fucking joke is, the details that supposedly need updating, don't seem to have any errors in them.

They can do whatever they want because I know people that will literally only buy online through PayPal. I feel your pain though mate. I got banned for no reason they could give. Had to guess what it was, then rebrand. So much hassle.
