Dear BHW
i have a client with a strong primary domain. They are launching a new app, and for branding purposes they will be creating a brand new domain for it, against my SEO wishes. Fine. However, i do have access to the main original strong domain, and can utilize it to link to both the new domain as well as the 2 app store links.
What is the ideal strategy? Here are my options I'm considering:
1) On the main domain homepage, add a box of content and link to new domain, and each of the 2 app store links, surrounded by relevant keywords.
1b) In addition to 1a, i will create a blog post which is kinda relevant to the new domain and new app, and link to all 3.
OR
2) create a new landing page from the main domain which aggressively targets the same keyword that the new domain is going after. i will link to the new domain and app pages from here, but this page will probably outrank the new domain. bc my ROI is based on app installs, i think this might be a better strategy than 1.
Or you can make the case to combine strategy 1 and 2.
Curious to hear what others think
TIA
