Where can I find clients?

I am a senior web developer has 7 years experience in web building.
Before, I worked in company but this year I started remote developing as freelancer.
However, I don't know where can I find clients who can give me full time remote jobs?

yes, that's true.
however, total is very difficult to sign up and in upwork and freelancer, there are many low hourly developers who has many reviews so it is difficult for new users to get jobs.
I didn't check reddit and angellist. however, I think those will be same.
so, I am looking for clients directly.

Do you code from scratch? If so, get networking in your business groups in your area, and and offline.

Proper development is hard to come by a good one.

Selling in forums etc means you’ll always be charging cheap rates when our own in house developer is chocked for time and making good money

In my local, there are few clients and hourly rate is also a little low. so, I think remote working price with USA clients will be good than my local clients.

Personally I find mine on street corners, but that is another story.

Contact businesses (who tend to have spare cash) with shit dated websites. Write some spiel about why their website is shite and will never rank.

Upwork is your best shot, unless you can find remote positions directly through companies, I know quite a few develeopers in Russia/Ukraine, that work full time for companies in the USA.

You need to get your own clients, nobody is going to give to you for free as @MisterF has explained, best not ask before someone offers you a jv and gets you banned

If you want clients then there are some pretty nice ways that were dicsused in bhw's offline marketing section

go to the main forums -> offline marketing -> sort thread by most views or most replies

There are some pretty nice ways to score clients. One was also based on web development on how you offer a free website DESIGN and up sell them more page design of the same website and then also offer them re-seller hosting per month. Just go there and browse, the offline marketing section has some GOLDEN NUGGETS for scoring clients.

There was one in which you find shit site designs and offer them a template of how their website can look, then you pitch them the cost.
There was also another one in which you use contact form submissions to pitch them how their website is losing out etc etc and then pitch them your service.

There are very nice ORM threads there as well and you can put a twist to those methodologies and use it for web dev.

Honestly if you have a web dev client, What I usually do is, after the project is done, I ask them for their marketing budget and then up sell them other services. If they have a small budget, quote them a the minnimum budget. You can outsource or JV with someone over here on BHW for specific fields.

My final words are to visit the offline marketing section and sort the threads by views or replies, you will get good ideas!
