What is your business strategy here anyway? For eCommerce sites you will need plenty of good backlinks to rank. Or, for quick conversions you will good Ad campaigns.

I think a blog will be helpful if you create content related so Google recognize you as a better expert in that niche providing more value. I'm not google but I will combine that with infographic inside the content of the blogs to get also trafic from pinterest about your niche. Let me know how it helps you.

I am running a Croatian e-commerce store doing FB Ads and also looking for the best way to boost my SEO.

Since buying links from news portal is expensive (it works best) I am thinking of going with some English links - maybe HQ PBN with naked URL, but not sure how Google see ENG links on CRO site.
Also, I've started a blog where I am paying a student to translate 3500 words/week from English to Croatian (~4 blog posts). Hoping to rank without building that many BLs. Will see the results.

Since your website is a Croatian one, I believe that it will be easier to rank. Get good contents on the blog section of the ecom site. The more frequently you post contents, the better. Then get some good PBN links with brand and naked url anchor links for the majority of the links. That should get the job done.
