I recently published an app on playstore and wanted to promote this so I gave it a go with Twitter ''App installs campaign''.

Results:

115,216 impressions
10,289 app clicks

but got from this only 15 installs!

How is this possible? The ad was 100% about the app in playstore so nothing misleading. So 10k people clickted on the app via twitter but only 15 installed it?

Or I did something wrong here? Any tips would be highly appreciated!

Did you use a prelander to presell the merits of installing your app?

Its a app install campaign so once they click install, it brings to the playstore, doesn't it?
sorry a noob with twitter here :(

Would you randomly install an app just because you got directed to the playstore? You need to presell what is your app about and why user need to install it.

In the ad which is promoted on twitter, there is info on what the app is about. So from 115k impressions, 10k people clicked on the app (cause they found it interesting) and they land on playstore (where the app is and also description) but only 15 install it from 10k people who click on the app..

There seems something wrong. Maybe twitter shows the ad also to PC users? but its a app install campaign and its in playstore so it should only show to android users..?

so strange, but there is definitely something wrong.

The ad should be there to attract people, not provide all info on your product. That is impossible for one thing. That's why your landing page needs to sell, selling is not the ad's purpose.

Yes, more than likely. That's a healthy click rate so you must have done good targeting and an attractive ad.

But as Kratos alluded to, just getting on your landing page is not a guarantee of anything. I suspect that's where you did things wrong. You seem to expect people to just download the app, buy your product. Doesn't work that way. You did only half of the marketing with the ads. The second half is the selling, convincing that they needed this product.

You don't seem sure you were showing only to mobile devices. Find out and fix that, it is an app after all and want to advertise only to mobiles.

Thanks for the input, am looking into all now.
