Very disappointed with Namecheap this black friday

Look, I only read good sides about them before in BHW, and I am personally use Namecheap hosting and domain, its okay, cheap but okay.

But this Black Friday, after grabbed some coupons, something nasty happened from their side on me.

In my case, 2 Namecheap staff agreed help me transfer my website to new Stellar hosting for free, with a lot of hassle talking around. When my website is ready to transfer from old dead "Value" hosting, the new Staff say they can't help with it.

They say they can only "upgrade" your current Value hosting to "Stellar" but actually, you are still will use "Value" because nothing changed, just the so called "name" label.

Why?

Because you use a damn cheap Black Friday coupon lol, you are cheap customer, but sorry, Fuxx you, thats all.

From the perspective of any company, they need to make money I understand, but when you agree on sth (even with 2 people), then suddenly the 3rd one say, no, screw you. This is not the right mindset to do in the business.

Because your customer use coupon, does not mean he/she is cheap as Fuxx, think about renewal plesae...


So a bit rant here, I am angry now, yes, I feel disappointed with Namecheap.

I've also had conflicting answers from their support before.

But Namecheap have been pretty good in sticking to their word. If you've had 2 people say yes to something, then imo there's no way they can't help you with it now.

First thing is to always save the chat (they have an "email this chat to you" function) whenever you talk with support about something important. If you have that, then they should commit to what they've said.

If you don't, start up another chat with them and insist that two people before you have already promised they would help with the transfer. I think the 3rd person you spoke to was a bag egg. Try again

Trust, it wastes me around 8 hours (yes), talk with 3 people, and no, 3rd one say fXXX you, no way. My case is special I understand, but with already approved by first 2 guy, it is so unbelievble what they have done to me.

Yes, they allow you transfer website yourself to new hosting, but I am a dumb, I dunno how to do that, thats why I talked with the staff, they agreed on free help, but suddenly, NO.

Mate you could just transfer the site yourself. It just takes few minutes.

you can do ssl free any host , read a ssl post i done under my name was with go daddy server on a free cpanel deal.

was fun .

if you got full cpanel on any host
and a domain active with dns settings you can easly transfer you domain to point to new server .

not hard being honest

Saw your post about this, this is BS, IF coupons cant share with others and even within one account you can't use twice of same coupon, thats even more BS....

What? Copy entire wp folder and throw it in a new host, the second step creates a database on the new host. The third is export my SQL database from old host and import in new host my SQL and change database user pass in wp-config file. That it and change name servers.

There is, a lot of people grabbed the .com domain coupon and hosting, but seems this year more rules on using these coupons.
