Reply button goes black then yellow again and no post

Hi, I don't know if anyone else experienced this, but every few posts do not allow me to reply.

For example, on this thread: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/google-adsense-less-revenue.1061930/

No matter what I write there, even just "TEST", it will not allow me to reply.

Browser console does not display any errors. This happens basically every day on some random thread, so just raising the issue with you guys, maybe you can check the logs for errors.

Thanks for your reply. It did happen the other day once more on the adsense forum again.

I thought some keyword I used triggered a spam filter. I deleted the entire message and re typed differently, still no cigar.

Then I deleted the entire message and just to test I typed something generic, knowing it wouldn't go through. It didn't.

Hasn't happened recently though, it does often happen in the adsense forum and another forum I forget, it's specific do some places.

Tried a new browser, used Brave browser with 100% clean profile, and no cigar. It's not the browser.

The spam filter rarely gets triggered for members with more than 15 posts. However, there is one spam filter that gets triggered whenever a users posts certain lines of code on the forum, but you'd see a Cloudflare box appear if that were the case.

Here's what I'll need you to do: draft your message that's not posting and then click the save draft button in the text editor. I'll log into your account and try posting it to see if the issue is on the forum's side.

I just found something else:



I hit reply with the web console open and no network requests were ever made.

It's being blocked on the client side by some javascript.

BHW no longer allows us to disable javascript (text field disappears) so I can't test with JS disabled.

NOW I DO RECALL that I used to disable javascript and it worked!

It is some javascript!

Can BHW enable non-JS posting again?

I had the same problem and surprisingly it only happens when I post on an Adsense thread. Probably it triggers some spam filters. I was thinking that maybe I am banned from adsense threads but looks like I am not alone.

Strange because I tested another clean browser that does not have any plugins and it also blocked me.

It's something inside the BHW page, a javascript or something, because a network request is never made at all. It gets blocked in the client side.

When I visit the first thread you linked in your OP, I get the "Post Reply" and "More Options" buttons, but the "Upload a File" button is missing, and there is no textbox for me to input a reply. The second link loads as normal.

It was me you helped with this before if I recall correctly. I had a similar issue where I couldn't reply in certain threads

@bartosimpsonio it was down to my ad blocker. Are you using adblock or some script blocker?

Looks like its on desktop and I assume you are using Chrome or similar? If so, try clearing cache as @Zwielicht suggested, and also try temporarily disabling all browser plugins. Then see if it will work.

So usually whenever it's an issue on BHW's end, it ends up affecting a lot more users. I haven't seen any support tickets about it and it looks like only a handful of users have experienced this before (myself included).

Did you ever try posting in that thread from another device (e.g., your phone)?

No, only from PC. Funny though it happens across different browsers, so it's not a particular extension that's causing it.

EDIT:

sturose may be right, I do use adblock and it would make sense for it to block stuff mentioning adsense and cloaking and stuff.

The other browser I tested I think also blocks ads by default, without an ad plugin (Brave browser).

Will try from a different PC later. I think it's gona work if I disable all ad blocking.
