My opinion..

People here are talking about chess, funny.. chess..

What I see is just the undemocratic of google, each time google is more dificould, and this one beneficts to the big ones, the coorporations.

At the end of the day google will be: 1- big company 2º bigest company 3º macro company4º all the same..

Of course we all can buy comments, or buy proxie, but thats just another thing in top of the other. I see in my niche companies spending millions in publicity, and I have to fight with this.. when I see interviews of these companies they predict the bussiness is too "separate" and that they want to monopolize it.

Internet each day is worst, and can happend two things:

People will get fed up of seeing only big companies in the top results.
2-People will just consume from top companies..

And guess what: I think 2 choice is gonna hapend

Google released more info it WONT ! target all SERPs
Taken straight from a SearchEngineLand article:

"Numerous web sites reported over the weekend that Google Search added a new feature to allow users to add their comments to the search results. This feature is limited to the sports answer box and has been around since earlier this year, with the World Cup 2018."

So actually its nothing new.

Sheesh, what's next? A small 'trustworthy' meter bar?

I can envision Google implementing these comments, and their googlebot with special algorithm that scans a website's authenticity/authority. Then a score bar will be shown beside each website in search results - green being trustworthy, yellow being cautious or 'unverifiable', and red being 'unreliable' or 'probably fake news'.

Next thing you know, competitors all going haywire attacking each other with negative comments.

Then Google will report even better earnings from their ad revenue as webmasters would rather pay Adwords.
