When the same link appears twice on Google pg. 1

Client has a negative review showing up twice on page one of Google results. It's not a .com vs .com/ but the exact same url, description and page title in the result. Any tips work specifically for getting rid of a duplicate result? Thanks.

It's an exact match as far as what's showing up in Google results.

Do you have any tips for how to get rid of at least one of them? This is not my client's page. It's a negative review posted about their business that is showing up twice.

I've literally never seen that. I would imagine there is some small difference. PM me a screenshot if you'd like.

Otherwise, I would say, do the normal stuff, higher quality content that will rank above the negative. One or two from the same domain shouldn't make a difference long term, one of them will drop out when you have better content.

The doppleganger is no longer showing up on Google search results in Google, but it is still showing up in SERP software results.

Are you sure those are same urls? I mean.. http vs https or "/" vs no "/" or may be some query strings? Very interesting. Would appreciate if you could send me the links.. just for research ofcourse.

Hmm your privacy.. so, your choice.. I am intrigued because of what you said. I swear I never seen anything like this. That's why I wanted to see it for myself. Rest assured, I respect everyone's privacy..

Indeed, some clients get around!

When I looked at the SERPs, I only saw a single link, but the tracking software @Yack uses showed it ranking twice. Certainly strange and probably an anomaly since most people haven't seen anything like this before.
