This is the way yea. I'm not a moz fan, but you can check a Moz article with the title "[Case Study] How We Ranked #1 for a High-Volume Keyword in Under 3 Months" and follow their example (I can't post links yet lol). Obviously you should rank for as many keywords as you can though, and not just one. I've checked your competition and you should be able to rank for several targeted keywords easily.
