Wondering if it would be possible to drop a cookie when visitors arrive on my site embedded with my Amazon affiliate info

Check easyazon plugin once.

My site is not a wordpress site. Plus, this isn't exactly what I had in mind. I figured out how to create an Amazon affiliate link that takes you to their main homepage, not a product. What I want this to do is, when someone visits my site, it drops that cookie so, without ever actually clicking on any Amazon link, I get credit if they make a purchase within 24 hours.

It is called cookie stuffing and it isn't allowed I believe... Google it, there are many solutions to make this work.

Yep, that's what I came across. Apparently I'm not the first to have this idea... lol. So, sounds like you may know of other effective/non-bannable "methods"?

Back in the day, the guys in charged of DP engaged in this sort of activity , stuffing ebay cookies into the huge stream of visitors they had on the forum and their own properties.

Needless to say, it did not end well for them. You might be careful going around stuffing Amazon cookies on unsuspected victims or they might make a sample out of you in court.

On another note, I like your username, you have an interesting taste.

You may try exit splash. This redirect visitors to any destination when they click back on their browser (affiliate link in your case). This way it stuff cookie too but legally.

Make popup/popunder to your amazon affiliate link. When somebody click something on your website popup will fire up and visitor will get a cookie. This is only legal way to cookie stuff. And amazon affiliate maneger will see you website as referer.

Yes you do this with the help of cookie stuffing. This method will make you to drop cookies from your site. You can research about it for more information.

Amazon is very strict about traffic, you will be banned before first payment, even if you use popunders. Only real clicks from your website can keep you safe and get paid. These fuckers banned me even for using domain for redirection.

You can do what eazyazon does to increase the cookie duration to 90 days. Add the product to cart.

it's 90 days only for that product only, correct?
and on normal click, you get 24h for all the commissions.

Yes 90 days is actually the cart expiration duration. So in that case you get longer cookie duration.

Hmmm, that's cookie stuffing. It's one thing to engage in black hat activity (as in against TOS of Google, Amazon, etc.), but cookie stuffing is illegal. Just wanted to make sure you knew that before proceeding. Google "Shawn Hogan and eBay cookies" for the most infamous story on cookie stuffing.

Good luck in whatever you decide to pursue!
