in the day and still know , i setup my own home email server and used my own internet line.

was fun i was learning mcse 2000 at the time .

i think the amazon ses will do the trick easly.

cable hated me hands down lol

Don`t use own SMTP as it can be so powerful and after few hundreds or k of emails all will go spam or shadowed.

A new dedicated IP won't cost much!

great and best alternative would be amazon SES + Sendy, if you don't want the headache of SMTPs, IPs, servers and linux but you will need to talk to amazon and get your SES limit up for your project! otherwise just buy some amazon ses accounts here and there.

I dont do big lists now , But used ses to mail big lists in the past nothing works good then ses in my experience
