Opinions on selling by DM?

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and Instagram automation. What are your opinions on selling through Instagram DMs? It seems that some people are doing this around here. Do these accounts get banned easier? Is it working for any of you better than a simple link in bio? I am trying to promote my shopify dropshipping store.

Any insight and advice for a newbie would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps there are some guides or journeys on this specifically that I have missed.

DMs are very effective and more risky. Very easy to annoy users and come across as very spammy. If your account is new / low quality IP then the risk is a ban. Better quality account has better chance.

Just don't go overboard on the numbers and vary your message up, then cross your fingers and hope

I have tried this method like for 7 days.

I was promoting hosting / funels etc.. (affiliate)

Didn't make single sale, it was maybe cuz i've been lazy creating my own sales text or bad products to bad audience.

I gave up after one week this method.

the open rate was pretty much high. little tip if you are going to try this method, use notepad in your phone for use of paragraphs (in instagram you cant use them)

Also if you are going to put in your sales letter link, then the receiver will get notice in DM that for example my name: “Filipo666 has sent you a link” instead of the sales letter.

Here is what you can do: send your sales letter + link and then right after write some catchy short text (add emojis), which will show up in receiver DM.

I used to send like 5 dm's / hour (used my personal account, didn't get ban, shadow ban etc..)

I belive if you find right audience + right product, then you can make a really great ammount of money.
