Whether it is absolutely terrible or bloody brilliant, I feel compelled to watch this movie.

Thoughts?

pikachu with chad voice alone can be compelling enough to watch it

It's not for me. Those characters were designed for anime drawing style in mind. NOT CGI.

Still, where there's money to be made...

Even if the movie SUCKS, they are probably going to make a lot of money! Seems like a win-win for WB and Nintendo, haha

To be very honest, I am very curious about this film; this is just nostalgia for me that comes to life. I will definitely watch the movie!

Will be hard to transition to this one for sure... completely different style.

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.

I remember hearing about the movie ages ago and thought it would be the biggest load of crap going but my Wife showed me a trailer last night and it looks like it could be pretty good, looked like there was lots of action.

Also saw the trailer to Overlord last night which looks awesome.

I've never been into Pokémon (while enjoying other anime), but in my opinion the trailer is a mixed bag.
There's a lot you could criticize about it, for instance the unnecessary blackwashing (which you're not allowed to say but it strongly reminds me of what they've done in the Netflix adaptation of Death Note) , then the hyper realistic Pokémon. I mean, Pikachu looks okay. But Jigglypuff and Psyduck?
They're literally nightmare fuel.

Reminds me of those horror paintings from several years ago haha

However, I think the movie may be able to get a pass from hardcore fans, primarily those who were obsessed with it in their childhood or still are. In general I've noticed that more 18-25 year olds are interested in Pokémon than kids. I doubt it's gonna be enjoyable for most children nowadays, in particular because I think they all dropped Pokémon for Fortnite and other things. Even my 10 year old nephew says it's boring.

OH DEAR GOD THE HORROR

And yes, I agree, it's a lot of nostalgia money making fest with Pokemon, I think. The casting of Ryan Reynolds seems apt from the target age they are probably aiming for and his popularity as Deadpool. I haven't played the game in decades but Pikachu still does bring good memories and I will probably watch this several times once it is on streaming, haha.

pokemon should keep 2d
this 3d version is horrible

Inmersive VR Pokemon MMORPG with a GOOD SOCIAL ENVIORMENT...

Que manera mas tonta de empalmarse

I was a huge pokemon fan when I was a child... but this looks like a load of shit, there's no chance for me to watch it.
0 hype honestly
