etsy or shopify?

Ha it's not a product.. it's just a messy (albeit functioning) set of scripts that I wrote to work with WordPress/Woo, AdWords, Bing.... and it's weird too you have to do a bunch of backend stuff to connect your SKUs to the other channels.... my motive was to never sell it, I just wanted it working for myself ha. But yeah I mean that's the cool thing, if I can figure out how to write it once it just runs on its own and does whatever I told it to do.. haven't even looked at any of the code in several months.. you don't want it.. I just do it to get it working and that's it.. if any actual programmer looked at it.. idk, it's like workable garbage lol. But I can always go back and optimize or make it do whatever if I need it too so it works for me you know.

Basically just saying there's real power in learning this stuff.. especially with the marketplace APIs... eBay, Amazon, AdWords has one... this is how people create all these wild tools, utilizing that base. It's a whole nother thing if you want to make it user friendly

What kind of ads are you talking about ha. Plug-ins have their place they can be huge time savers for a lot of things but I prefer to custom code/tailor if I can. And most ad integrations are just a block of javascript code you insert on your page, like nearly cut and paste type thing, to get them up and active.. so I would probably just enqueue the js in their custom-functions file to turn up on certain pages or whatever.. idk it's not hard once you get an understanding of how the wordpress template hierarchy is set up and the base code (PHP, MySQL and the built in WordPress/WooCommerce functions and hooks) that it works out of it and interacts.

I still don't know a lot of it. There is too much to learn. Things move so fast. I won't be slight and say it's easy, in fact it sucks a lot of the time (until it works especially trying to figure out new stuff), but just having the basic understanding of how it works is well worth it and can open up a lot of possibilities if needed.

While i enjoy learning, i was talking about shopify, whats the most efficient way to attract customers on SHOPIFY STORE? facebook ads? google adwords? is there a plugin that saves you money?

I will keep all these info in case i transfer my store on wordpress.

That's the thing man, it all depends haha.

It depends on what you're selling, who you are selling too... how many products you are trying to advertise for. If you just want to do a few ads there's no need to use a plug-in you can just submit a feed manually via the Google Merchant Center in a specific way, no coding knowledge required. But if the price changes or link changes or whatever you'd have to go back in and do it manually.

I work with shopify just a little bit, I have one person who uses a plug-in, but he has like 3000 skus, so yeah it probably saved him money. Other than that I don't really care much about shopify or have felt inclined to learn much of it... you're not in control of the hosting or the core code or anything.. they make it easy for you, and they profit from it yeah for sure.

But REALLY... as long as you submit the feed with the requirements (do it in excel or something), submit it.. you're good to go with that to at least start with. The REAL work isn't even in integration/plug-in/whatever side the real work in attracting customers in in the AdWords console itself, analyzing the data, targeting the right audience, finding the right keywords, removing the bad ones from being seen, so forth.. that's when the real game comes into play for marketing and advertising and sales, not just a plug-in to get it over for ya... but yeah plug-in may or may not be worth it to you depending on how you're doing things or want to do things which I don't know.

But if you're not familiar with AdWords or FaceBook ads, start small, do it manually at first... then decide.. would be my advice... you can go through a lot of money if you don't know what you're doing or you can make a lot of money if you do. But then again it all depends on the business and type of business etc.

I will try Google Merchant, i have around 55 items on my shop, all art related.

I tried Ad words and Facebook ads, i spend 50 dollars (10 days 5$ a day) and i got only 100 visits (no conversion), i even created a video commercial and a catalog ad that i connected with my facebook page (carousel type), nothing was successful like etsy. My items get a lot of views and clicks, and Christmas is really close.

I must find a way to convert all these impressions to orders, etsy gave me a lot of customers but i think i can do better, i am just searching for the vehicle that will get me to that customers...

That should be manageable to do manually (for now at least). Once you log-in to AdWords, there is an outbound link to Google Merchant Center. Or just google it and you'll find it.
Etsy advertising and etsy in general seems to have a lot of potential (especially depending on the niche) but I've never looked into the dynamics of how their advertising network works. I probably should soon.

Hello, i recently opened a shopify store, i failed to promote it, spend 50 dollars on ads without revenue, etsy on the other hand makes me 50 dollars a week with very cheap ads (i made 300 dollars with 4 dollars ads on Promoted Listings). Do you think that shopify has a broader audience and i must continue trying or there is a chance to increase my customers on etsy? Which one has the potential to make me more money? Thanks.
