Hello, i recently opened a shopify store, i failed to promote it, spend 50 dollars on ads without revenue, etsy on the other hand makes me 50 dollars a week with very cheap ads (i made 300 dollars with 4 dollars ads on Promoted Listings). Do you think that shopify has a broader audience and i must continue trying or there is a chance to increase my customers on etsy? Which one has the potential to make me more money? Thanks.

etsy surely better as compared to shopify.
And having your eCommerce website is also an good option provided you know how to rank it.

i am working on shopify with pro plan i think its best for in case with easily sale boom and cross order shipment platform ,just by giving some amount a proper platform is here here i have no need to headache about merchant ,products, suppliers etc

Thanks for the help guys!

Pro plan? Thats very expensive, does pro plan offers you promoted listings like etsy? or includes a commercial plan?

To be honest their both completely different platforms. You have to look at the following:
  • Product Types
  • Pricing and Fees
  • Exposure
Etsy is a creative marketplace for handmade goods, vintage items, and craft supplies only. While Shopify is an eCommerce platform. There are no restrictions on what type of products you can sell, if it’s legal of course!

Shopify Fees
  • Basic – $29/mo
  • Shopify – $79/mo
  • Advanced Shopify – $299/mo
Etsy Fees

  • Listing fee: $0.20 per item to be listed for 4 months
  • Transaction fee: 3.5% on every purchase
  • Payment Processing: 3% + $0.25 on every purchase.
So, if your brand is new, then you might need the exposure Etsy can offer.

That being said, Etsy has much more traffic than your webstore would, but it’s much less targeted traffic.

When it comes to your Etsy listings you’re limited to pictures and text.

With Shopify, you have full control over your listings. You can create your website and product pages to look however you want them to. Shopify is known for their user-friendly design interface. They also have countless templates so you can find and customize the template that you think fits your store’s personality the best.

Yes i know all that. Whats your options to commercialize your store when it comes on etsy? I use promote listings and google shopping, should i try facebook ads on etsy? or its a waste of money?

Wordpress + Woocommerce

Thanks! is it cheaper to commercialize your store on woocommercel than adwords and facebook ads? Because the main reason i dropped shopify is the expensive failed ads on these platforms. Thanks!

I think best idea is to brand your Etsy and try to use it to funnel traffic to your site.
This way, you can benefit from the organic traffic Etsy provides, while still focusing on a platform that you have control over.
I've used Etsy ads and have had mixed experiences, but have indeed found them cheaper then most alternatives.
Of course, Etsy doesn't allow you to send customers off-site but there is a specific section on your profile where you may link your external website and social media. You can also list your private label brand of the item in the description and title to raise awareness.

Whether you should use shopify or not though, that's probably personal preference.
There's nothing wrong with it but I think it's geared more towards less tech friendly people.

Start with Etsy since you are doing good there and then you can have your store on Shopify when it is time to scale or if you want to try new things

shopify or Etsy , does not matter .
All that matter is product u r selling .
and if u r selling good at etsy , why you have to leave it . Spend money on scaling it.

Thanks for the reply, i don't think it will work.

What methods are you using to promote your etsy store?
