5000 words article vs 5*1000 words articles? which is better?

I have a habit of writting long article but I dont know that's good for SEO or not. I have done my 5000 words article on how to make an ecommerce website using wordpress. I include everything in the article from buying domain, hosting, theme, install them,install ssl certicate, customize, picture, video tutorial... Should I do that or I need to split into 5 articles? which one is better? Let's assume that my content is interesting.

If you're planning to use Affiliate Marketing as a monetization model, I believe writing long articles is better SEO-wise as you can use different variations of your keywords.

Think about the kind of people that would Google "how to start an ecommerce website with wordpress". What do they want?

My guess is that they want a simple step-by-step guide explaining why wordpress is a good choice, what woocommerce is, other successful examples and the basic steps needed to get it done. This could be 2000 words max. Going through a bunch of domain and hosting options at this stage is information overload. Also, some readers may have already done these steps.

You can summarise the sections you have already written (like "how to choose a domain name"), then link to a more detailed page you have created on the same topic.

I've found this approach helps because it helps your site have more content, provides great interlinking opportunities, lowers bounce rate and aids UX because people don't get overwhelmed by a ton of detail.

It depends on the keyword. Google will tell you what ranks well, you just need to check the first page search results. If the first page is full of 1000 word articles, then I wouldn't write anything longer than 1500 words. If the first page is full of 3000 word articles, then go ahead and write a 5000 word post.

One of my current clients is in an industry where longer form content (2500 words) is what ranks. However, for the next keyword we're targeting, the long form content is actually ranking at the bottom of the first page or on the second page, and shorter form content (800-1200 words) is actually ranking at the top of the first page. So for this article, I'm having them write a shorter piece instead of a 2500 word piece.

Why does it need to be duplicate?

I would write an all encompassing guide, one that explains nothing beyong a paragraph or 2, then interlink off to your hosting in-depth article; CMS, link out. Then within the in-depth article have some focused ads, AND a link to your comparison table, with each affiliated company.
So here you have a nice long article, plenty of content, longtails, and internal links that you can focus your link building on. Want to learn more? Boom they can learn more specifics and enter into a sort of sales funnel, you may have some that jump on the ads there, but those you get to the comparison table will be focused, targeted, and looking to buy.
You can drive people to focused things like this over and over and over.

Long content is good but it's quality also matters. As long as the content is informative and unique..it sure gives you good results. I would suggest you to try 5 1000 words articles.

I really disagree. You'd be surprised by what ranks. Really, just check what is on the front page. Google is giving us all the answers.

I would suggest you split into 5 and optimize each with different keyword.

IMO, I won't read long articles, except ebook. If a webpage, human will lost interest to read long articles. Search engine will stand at human point of view to rank it, not it own point of view rank it.
