Any usage of cell-phone numbers?

I accidentally found a way to get a bulk of cell-phone numbers. Mainly handhelds. So, is there any way to make money out of that? Any idea?

I wouldn't imagine that would be too hard to obtain. Maybe I am not understanding correctly.

I don't think this would be hard either, I've some website started sort of "yellow pages" for cell phones, where anyone can add number or harvest those which are already in the lists...

I don't really know how you could make money out of these, you can't even sell them to call center that do bulk marketing, because they already got some way bigger lists from the cell phone service providers.

Or maybe you can start a sms service, you send sms to everyone in the list and make a few bucks from everyone who answer... I guess this should work as I often receive such sms that ask me to answer to a very expensive service number ("your soulmate is waiting" or "you won the lotto" kind of stuffs)

Yeah that would be the only way ...

And there are spam laws with that ....but these aren't severly abused yet they way email is ...

So, your less likely to piss someone off ...if you did it say once or twice...

If you had the right incentive or offering you may be able to just direct people to website or campaign. Perhaps one of your BH sites with a redirect to a CPA campaign for a particular offer. I don't know - something like that, just thinking off the top of my head.

I developed an SMS, and I am involved in unified messaging technology - but all our stuff is legit. You can do this from web or desktop though for free and practically anonymous (of course depending on where you want to direct people or how you want them to respond).

you could create multiple yahoo accounts and send ad text messages to the numbers through yahoo messenger. could be very effective especially with a bot maybe.

Not a bad idea ...probably worth more work then its worth..

Go to free service online> import list> send!

you message blasted via SMS.

Some accounts are FREE.. some cost very very little.

Could try that.

that sounds good as well. also sounds faster and more effective than my idea. i think this tactic is all about volume. the faster and more sms's you send out, the higher the response rate.
