Expired Domain Questions

So I bought a first ever proper expired domain after doing some research.
It came from Domcop and all the matrics looked good, including TF/CF and spam etc.
It had a few backlinks from guest posts and relating soruces though not all are niche specific.
But it's in a very good niche, and is a couple years old, so something I can build on. (It had expired a week or so back and ofcourseI registered it domain registration price)

So here i where my questions start:

The first thing I did was check all the previous content posts from the wayback machine, and restore each by copying from the wayback machine and also keeping same url to keep benefiting from the links ofcourse. Any problem with that?

One thing I noticed was most of the previous content was very poorly written and keywords were also not researched properly. So I'm going to fix that in the coming days.

The homepage was a giant post of topics that can otherwise also be found on inner posts (not a list of posts but a single post)
So i restored that but ofcourse going to change that, but is there a benefit?

Also I posted everything on a post with a title based on a keyword and then set that post to be the homepage. Is that how we do it or am I going to have some issues with the duplicity here?

A crawler also picked up the uncategorized category as a duplicate of all posts as well. Should i set the categories to noindex? or simply setting categories will help here?

Any other tips or links to good guides for working with expired domains will be helpful :)

Thanks

I verified all the stats tbh, through various tools before buying, and that is not my concern as I've been into IM for many years now, but not too much into setting up sites tbh. And then it's my first ever expired domain so I'm a bit confused about that.
And ofcourseI'm not going to use it for a PBN but actually as a niche site, as it happens to be targetting a lesser cometitive niche.

DA is 21 and its got ~300 links which are non spammy and more like natural + guest posts + a few forums.
Anchor text profile is also pretty neat.
Spam score is finer too.

TF is 7 and CF is 15.

How do I check for Google penality? though i don;t see that being there due to the stats checking out fine.
It's just the person was writing aweful content and wasn't targetting the right keywords.

So my question again is should I just copy and paste the content I can find on waybackmachine? And what about indexed pages I can't find content for? should I redirect them somewhow, just to keep the links that might be pointing to them?
Or should I just redirect all indexed url's to the domain itself or other new pages I'm gonna create?

What about the homepage content question I asked above? Is it fine to create a page/post targetting a specific keyword or set of keywords (pillar) and then set that page as homepage from within wordpress.Won;t that be duplicate content on two pages (home page and the post itself?)
Other questions are above ofcourse :)

You can check penalties in Google webmaster. Should you copypaste old content from wayback? It depends on it's quality, if it's poor then... Having the same content on both homepage and the inner page will definitely be considered as a duplicate content. The question is - are you going to make this domain great again or you just want to redirect it or use as a pbn?

ofcourse I'm going to use it as a niche site as I like domain stats and the niche itself.

How do you go around selecting a post as your homepage and not have it as duplicate content?
Do you specifically name that page as home, instead of having a keyword rich title of the post?

Keep an eye out for sneaky spam links hidden in the text for example white text on a white background, typically will be pornography type links.

Why would you do that? Just create a decent homepage and link to those posts from it if you find them important.
