People I follow don't get notifications about it

I noticed in the last few days, my follow back rate dramatically dropped from around 30% to almost 0%.
Then I tested on one of my own accounts. When I followed my own account, it was not given a notification for being followed by someone, but still registers as a +1 on the followers count.

Anyone notice this?
Is this new?

By reduce your following, do you mean reduce the amount of people you follow a day or the amount of people you are following right now? (For instance if you follow like 7500 people this will happen to you)

I just tried on one of my new accs, same thing here. No notifications, nothing. Following to followers ratio 1:1 life sux dear

I'm following 1:1 at about 2900. I'm only following 50 to 75 and following about 50 to 75 per day. That's about 100 to 150 actions.
However, I'm doing it this in a single session. +75 with 15 second gaps, then about -75 with 15 second gaps.

Is Ghosting permanent? Does it affect my other activities? Likes, comments? tweets?
How long should I wait before even trying anything again?
What should I change in my behavior to prevent it from happening again?

I tried right now on a second acc and there is no ghosting. On the ghosted one I did some random shit today like unfollowing 200 people, then following again and I guess that's how ghosting occurs. I'll let this acc chill for 1 day, unfollow everyone, rest again 1 day and try to follow afterwards.

i can clearly say: with more than 15k followING you can follow 1k/day without ghosting
i went with 2 accounts this year over this border -_- Followers: ~17,5k + ~18,9k

i don't know:
does this work with only 14,5k followers
does this work with bought fake followers and an only 1 month old account

i remember
• paused account
•~ 12,5k following 1 k worked for 2 or 3days
•ghosted =instead of ~ 600flwrs only 150-200
•with daily ~500 i reached than the 15k BORDER
