My website is 1 month old with 5 articles 9000 words combined. When should i backlink to my website? now? or should i write more content?

Wouldn't hurt to have more content but you can start now. Just think about how people would see your site if they were to do some looking around if you wanted a guest post as an example. You want to make sure your outreacher is not going to be disappointed by a thin looking site.

while you are waiting, it would not hurt starting your own web 2.0 blogs, and let them age for 45 days or so, and then have them link back to your money site.

right now, you can start creating your social signal pages, facebook, linkedin, twitter, google+, etc.

Read up about link velocity that will help you create a proper backlinking strategy and answer your question :)

Start sharing it on social media and get some social traffic first. Then build links.

I suggest you first you have to write at least 20 quality content then start doing backlink. Search Engines will love your site.

Share your posts and get some real, white hat backlinks from social media. It is better way to make your backlink profile stronger before starting aggressive SEO campaign.

Write (or steal and rewite :) ) a few articles 500-600 words long, then find some smaller blogs in your niche that accept guest posts and offer them you content. You will get a few white hat links and maybe a few leads. What is more important, having guest-posting background with smaller blogs , later you will have a chance to guest post for some A-class blogs.

Thanks bro!

But stealing? is this a good idea? even if i rewrite them? Google won't catch me for this?

95% of the www it`s a rewrite thing. Can`t be all of them Einstein or Tesla, unfortunately.

Let`s say you write about: pizza, how many more write/talk about it?

It's all about seeming organic, what's normal in your niche? Try and look and compare newer sites and older sites to see their trajectory/links/engagement. It can give some perspective on how active audiences are within your niche, and it'll give perspective on how content of variant types perform. It also depends on the quality of the content itself, test how well its received in online communities within your niche.

It's a matter of if you have placeholder content or content that will get your audience engaged/help/convert them.

If you think it's solid, and as traffic increases will organically get links to it, then there's no reason not to start gradually building links or even just future usable connections to other sites in your niche.

Do you have quality content in your niche? You can already post backlinks. The earlier you start, the earlier you get the positions.

Meddie already answered. If you will really rewrite, not just change a few words, for Google it will be "original" content. So don't worry. Even Wall Street Journal writers do the same and still get $400 per piece :)

i just bought an EMD domain not too long ago and i built links to it before i even uploaded wordpress to it. let alone get articles uploaded. come to find out it worked!
Building links before even hosting the domain. A @BassTrackerBoats method:cool:

You have to start making backlinks now! Because I think if your website is 1 month old then its already too late. Building backlinks don't harm your website's image even you did it from the beginning. But it is not also too late start making links from now and try to refine the list of the backlinks and make it related to your website's niche.

There's no rule of thumb as to when to start creating backlinks - you can start creating these on day one, and no harm done at all.
Just ensure that your backlinks are quality links - not those spammy autogenerated ones, and mix those with social signals, and you should be fine.
Those spammy autogenerated ones used to work wonders 4 years back, but it looks like the linkjuicer/power has been taken away since then, and these links do nothing thereafter.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's a quality content. I meant that my content might be too thin to start backlinking it and Google might penalize me or something. That I should be having 30+ articles at least, not just 5.

Article spinning counts as "rewrite" ?
