What domain name do you think would work better?

As the title says.
For example a domain name like:
www.footballclub.com
or
www.football-club.com

How would these 2 differ with SEO and such?

No difference SEO wise you can rank one just as well as the other.

From a pure SEO perspective, football-club.com is identical to hand-egg-team.xyz. From a brandability perspective, going with a non-hyphenated COM is virtually always preferable.

Personally I would buy both domains to avoid copycats, but I'd use footballclub.com as the primary brand.

Seeing as it is a 'football-club' try and think what are people going to remember when advertising in person. i.e. 'Hey our website is footballclub.com' is a lot easier than 'hey our website is football hyphen club .com', along with the other reasons stated above.

At 'retail' they cost about the same as a month of decent hosting, and there's almost always a $.99 promotion floating around for freshly registered domains.
