Anti scraping plugin for WordPress available?

Hi guys,

I am building a private directory for music related people with an 'unlimited membership'. This membership allows the user to access private contact details of companies. The downside of this unlimited membership is, that users can scrape all the pages and save the data in an Excel sheet document.

I am seeking a plugin that is able to allocate the amount of 'actions / views / bot impressions' for the user and if the plugin detects that a scraping method is being used, a captcha will appear. I have seen a plugin in the past which was able to do so, but I couldn't find it anymore.

Do you know a plugin that will be able to do this?

Cloudflare will mess up the casual opportunist, if someone wants your data they will take it.

Guess it is down to how much you want to protect it / inhibit paying users.

You can use the plugin named "feed delay" to stop scrapers.

There is a wordpress plugin named " wordpress poison" which can download from their website, when anyone copy your contents, all your contents characters will look like same, but completely no meaning, like different encoding characters,, no idea how to call this, but old school things with new implementation.

I haven't tried this myself, another BHW recommended. It's free I think.

if your data have in chunks then do this

people will buy membership details for 5 companies.
so they can reveal only 5 details a month.

if they buy all your details and sell them, nothing can be done.

else make a platform, where they can connect with the companies, but they cant see the actual contact details.

just tried, even searched in my browser history, nothing find,

but I am pretty sure, its something related poisoning article, when others copy, all characters become ANSI, looks same, but its different.

Fuck, I cant find it lol...


edit: another clue, if I remember right, someone else posted the name, so I googled .... maybe

use codeigniter and block bots via .htaccess ,and if you have grip on server WHm then disallow open_url()

Wordfence does help with this. But, doesn't hurt to have both wordfence and cloudflare.

Cloudfare is fairly decent, the average hobby coder will not get through. But someone with decent skill that wants to get to your data will, no matter what
