Building links to the silo page ?

Any opinion about it ? Do building links to the silo page helps or am I just wasteing time ?

Yes it does help. I never just build links to the home page. I won't give away my niche, but supposing you had a site that was based on sex toys and items.
One of the silo subpages would be dildos, one might be ball gags, the other might be lube. Then you would delve deeper into it. I.E. for the dildos, you would have child pages that contain lists such a 'best dildo under $100', 'rechargeable dildos' etc. But you really need to build links to each page in the silo rather than just building to the parent dildo page.
