Using ScrapeBox to find quality blogs to comment on

I watched Loopline's video on this topic several times. I try to put it into action. I use the footprints in ScrapeBox and I have my own. I find plenty of links, but rarely do any of them allow comments. Those that do tend to be pretty spammy. If I filter the URLs with less than 100 links out, there's almost nothing to post to. It almost seems like nothing I do works. The manual poster doesn't seem to work either. But, I'm not too concerned about that. I can always cut and past the URLs and manually post in a browser.

Does this method still work? If so, what's the best approach to be successful? If it still works, then I'm doing something wrong.

I mean you can still build links with scrapebox, but Id go for using it to build higher authority links. Here is a concept. The video is a bit older, probably talks about page rank, but the general concepts are the same. Plus I didn't even cover using the contact form poster to solicit people for links or guest posting etc.. Its wide open, you just have to be creative.

I've had very little luck finding quality sites to leave comments on. I've thought about searching for pages that have active comments and extracting the links. Then, filter by Alexa rank and try to reverse engineer their commenting strategy. This is the only thing that I've come across that might be effective.
