Unfortunately not, it has always been like that and I don't think there is a way around this.
Youtube has put this system in place for reasons of protection against fraud, among other things.

YouTube takes a long time to update data on your video. I thik this is because YouTube checks all videos for fake views before actually updating the view count. Have you heard of the 301 rule?
