Editing old video on channel

Hello,

We have a video on our YouTube channel that has already achieved a large number of views and is a video guide about ordering on our site. We sell virtual currency for the game, which is released every year.

We would like to edit the title of this video and its thumbnail so that viewers do not think it is out of date.
The guide is up to date, because the only thing that has changed is the game, the ordering process itself looks the same. We are afraid, however, that editing a movie after 8 months can cause that it will not be displayed in recommended and its ranges will fall.

What do you think, such a solution makes sense or is it better to record a new guide and expect that it will achieve similar views? There is also a lot of positive comments under that first video, we would not like to lose them.

Are we talking a [2017] change to [2018] in the title? If so go for it as long as you are giving the viewers what information they need and it is understandable but there is a risk of viewer aggression.
If the video is out of date in terms of instructions you will definitely have a lot of dislikes and viewer drop-offs.

Let me tell you how many times I have disliked and jumped off a video because they have put a fake date it.
Example "Adobe After Effects Crack 2018" then you click on the video and it's uploaded 2017.

Viewers do not like to feel like they are being treated like dummies.

This is a guide on ordering on our website. Exactly it's about the FIFA Coins product that we sell. The ordering process itself is identical in FIFA 18 and FIFA 19, only the graphics on our site have changed and the category number from 18 to 19 Rather, this should not end up being disliked, but we will think about it. Somebody can assume in advance that the video is out of date.

Think of your fanbase and the viewers, you know them best...

Would they be annoyed? Would they care? Would they even notice?

If it was my channel I would take the risk and edit the date in video title and thumbnail. I've done it many times without issue. In saying that, I have heard of users editing their video's metadata unsuccessfully causing loss of views. In the majority of cases their should be no negative impact on views or engagement when making a small change to title, thumbnail, or description and it's possible that the anecdotal evidence I've seen showing the changes causing a loss of viewership, was actually a loss of viewership due to lowered click through rate or another variable that was affected by such efforts.
