Most Underrated SEO Tactic - IFTTT SEO

...

I'm more interested with how the properties are being made as a "branded" persona. I'll use the branded rings to link to a youtube and 1 money site.

I think that's what I'll do as well.
Even just doing a branded tier 1 network is a HUGE endeavor. I've spent at least a week, going through this course methodically, hours every day, and have just yesterday finished with the brand network and begun interlinking a few properties.

It's even more frustrating that this program was created years ago and several of these sites don't work for this purpose anymore (delicious, evernote, bitly, blog dot com, instapaper). In fact, I'm looking at the 2.0 version of this course, so I can't imagine how much is obsolete in the original course.

And you discover this after spending 15 or 20 minutes on each of those modules running into roadblocks, eventually realizing that your 20 minutes was wasted on that module. In fact, anyone reading this can learn from my wasted time to skip those platforms.

Something I want to get off my chest...

One thing I find infuriating is how Benner teaches. It could be worse, but he simply doesn't "use his words" enough. He frequently says something like,

"So you just click here and pull this down, and then click that and you should be seeing this. If you're not seeing this then another way you could do this is click here and then type this, and after clicking here you'll see this here, and this is the screen you want to be on."

He's not using any program that highlights where he is clicking. You have to watch his mouse cursor very closely and rewind many times to follow what he's doing. Instead of saying "this" and "here" so much, he should assume I'm actually doing the process and following along by listening to him.

I'd be able to get this done faster if he were specific with his oral instructions. As it is, he's created a program that requires you to pause frequently and see what he's doing, since he doesn't verbalize everything.

I agree. There are instances that Benner tends to not properly specify the steps that he is doing.

The guide itself is quite old, yes. But if you are able to pull up the example provided from this thread you would see that the main youtube video is still ranking in page 1 for youtube. It's even showing as 2nd from carousel preview in Google search.

When I last check, there are no other supporting backlinks for the money site or the video. It's plainly ranking with its rings.

Also, I'm mainly creating the properties according to what is indicated from the sample report and not with Benner's video.

I'll try to continue with my project and see for myself if the rings are worth it.

Expired domain with its own rings of properties + 4 supporting branded rings.

Hopefully this will do me good for my IM goals.

Thanks. Thank you to everyone here.

It seems to me that with all the sites I've created, I almost feel that even before adding IFTTT,
my work might rank my videos higher.

Before this endeavor, a few of my videos already ranked in positions #3 and #4 in Youtube search, and some videos rank in carousel in google search. Just want them to rank higher.

I very much doubt that any of my competitors (just three or four YT superstars, in a fairly narrow niche) have more than one or two (if that) such properties. Hardly a brand ring.
But, now I have a brand ring!

I haven't yet posted my Youtube videos into my branded ring. Just seed content (one or two curated posts).

Here's my question...

...and forgive me if this was made clear in the program or in this thread. My eyes are bloodshot and my brain is foggy from all this work on my branded ring.

My goal is to rank my currently posted Youtube videos higher, both in Youtube search and Google search.
As I understand it, I will NOT be using the Video Syndication Recipes,
because those recipes are designed to be used for NEW videos as the trigger.

So I would want to use RSS as the trigger I guess?
And I would post my already-published-to-Youtube videos into, say, Twitter, or Blogger.
Twitter or Blogger would be the first domino which triggers the cascade of links.

P.S. After three years in business, I can't believe I haven't done this (created a branded ring) for my real business! My real business has a FB, a Twitter (pretty much a ghost town), and a G+ (another ghost town with a few of my blog posts there gathering dust).

Now that I have a branded ring of 21 sites for my Youtube channel, it feels like it's a real brand. That's a good feeling.

Glad to know that you're already making progress on this one. As for me, I'm in NEGATIVE ZERO in terms of earnings. lol.

It does make sense that we have this "ring properties" for our money site. Though it's not mentioned in the guide, having properties linked from major social sites like fb, twitter, insta, and all others is a must and I will add it to my rings as well.

As for the triggers, I haven't tested it yet since I'm not yet done with my target properties.

So you have an existing video, and you just want to share it with your newly created rings from your main money site, I guess you can manually do the posting.

If you're lazy about it, try to check for trigger recipes. I believe, you could still create the same domino effect for your existing youtube video. Let's say you share it on a new property like twitter, after that with IFTTT you can program it to start sharing to other properties. I guess Rss would do the job but I can't confirm for now.

Once I'm done in sharing my video in my main branded ring, I'll try to synidcate it with IFTTT and start doing the post from my supporting rings. I'll try to schedule it so that I'm not sharing the video in all branded rings at once.

Since I have about ten videos in particular on my channel I want to rank,
I'll want to post each video once and have it via IFTTT be posted to my 20 brand properties in one go.
Not sure if I can embed a video in Twitter, or if the video url will be too long.

  • On another note, is anyone else having a problem connecting Twitter to Pinboard? I paid the $11 for Pinboard, and now it won't connect Twitter. Contacted support two days ago and no response.
  • Also, there is a serpspace plugin (at least one) that Benner made specifically for this, and is available free. I've got the plugin now, but Wordpress requires a Business Account ($25/month) to upload or add any plugins. Maybe I should just pay Serpspace the $200 or whatever it is to build rings for me.

Hi, was v2 released in 2016?
I found a link to download here: https://mega.nz/#F!MRp33YjR!7l38v6Ak1uAGC61J9PBOdA!0Qgy0IpI
Is the link correct?

Yes, that's correct. According to the Weebly video in Updates folder,
that video shows a date stamp of March 16th, 2016.
You can see it in just the first second of the video (just above the video of Benner within the screencast).
It says of the recipe,
"created March, 16, 2016
last run 5 days ago
run 1 time"

Image 009.jpg

Not sure if that's the date he recorded the Weebly update,
but Benner definitely recorded that update video AFTER March 16th, 2016.

So the bulk of IFTTT v2.0 was probably created in January or February of 2016.

Thanks for clarifying that. But I have decided to buy a package in Serpspace xD

It makes sense to do that I think.
That is, assuming it takes as much time as it did me to create one ring.
Then again, I'm sure it will be much faster next time. This time it took about 7 or 8 days of working on this, probably around 8 hours each day (or am I imagining this?).

So $200 (for the one ring) would DEFINITELY be worth it to get back that time.
My time is worth way more than $200 for a week's work.

And moreover, I'm sure they've refined it a great deal since nearly three years ago, which is the course we're learning from. So even if I do this more quickly the second time, I'll still be missing something.

I'm curious, people are actually selling this as a service for that amount? $200??

The branded ring that we're talking about here for that price is the one that is shared on the guide right? Or does it include other properties where a 1-time payment is required to have an account?

Since I first started IM, I haven't reached the $200 yet. lol

Maybe you're just imagining this?Lol. I mean, that's too much time.

When you create those properties, do you also create new articles right away or do you make the seed post?

When creating those properties, the only thing that is delaying me is my crappy internet connection and *usual procrastination.

Man, now I know that these branded rings could be offered as a service, I'm thinking that maybe I have a better chance of earning making these rings rather than promoting an affiliate product with a tedious process. Lol

Anyways, I'll work with my remaining 3 branded rings first and go with my plan. If I'm able to establish it, I'll share a free branded ring here. I'll do that to get feedback if I'm doing the properties right.

1. The people offering this service are the creators of the guide. And Benner himself (creator of the guide) says himself that he uses VAs for most of this. He has already trained VAs to follow his instructions, then he sells it as a service.
2. Yes, the branded ring we're talking about for $200 is the one that is shared on the guide, as far as we know. But, since this guide is nearly 3 years old, it's probably different now in some respects. I doubt it includes extra premium properties--otherwise they would advertise that fact. But this very guide has a couple properties that require a payment (viz., Pinboard and Wordpress).

When you create those properties, do you also create new articles right away or do you make the seed post?
Yes, I make the seed post (curated post, not a new article). The purpose of the seed post is to flesh out your profile, to make it look like a legit profile. So that's why I do it right after creating the property (I just followed the guide I think). The seed post is pretty much part of "creating the property."

You have my support. However, you'll likely not command a $200 rate. If you charged $200, then expect your customers to ask you why and how what you offer is better than Benner's service (Benner, who basically wrote the Bible on IFTTT rings for SEO, the guy whose course we're all following).

So maybe charge half of that.

And that's granting that you'll have customers flocking to you rather than Serpspace. Your clients won't be googling, 'I want IFTTT rings for my business.' They'll simply want to rank higher in YT videos or Ggl maps. This is an obscure method in SEO (I think...I've been doing SEO for my own business for 3 years, and only a few weeks ago heard of IFTTT because of this thread title).

I'm not saying you couldn't do as good a job as Benner. However, you and we all are using a 3-year-old course that Benner created.

In the latest 3 years, Benner has had a HUGE advantage over us since he not only created the course 3 years ago but also is the founder of the private IFTTT Facebook group or whatever group it is where many motivated IFTTTers are trying new things and testing and finding out what works in 2018.

You and I do not have access to the recent 3 years of discovery and testing. So we can't really offer a service of the same caliber. If you're like me, you've been at this IFTTT thing for 3 weeks.

Let's say we become expert at this thing. We still have to compete with Benner--the guy who is known for IFTTT. Not compete with him in terms of "creating IFTTT rings," but compete with him in terms of marketing the service.

Anyways, I'll work with my remaining 3 branded rings first and go with my plan. If I'm able to establish it, I'll share a free branded ring here. I'll do that to get feedback if I'm doing the properties right.

Remaining 3 branded rings? Do you mean 3 branded sites/properties? Do you have three companies you're creating rings for?

That would be awesome if you share your ring here.

By the way, is your goal to rank YT videos, maps listing, or something else? Oh, you said it was to promote an affiliate product.

Thank you. That's a reality check right there. Honestly, even an instant $50 would already make me happy just by selling those branded rings. For now, I'll continue with the target and see for myself if it would really rank a youtube video and website at the same time.

It's 5 rings in total. 1 ring is what you just did, for the main money site. The other 4 are branded rings that would serve as a tier 1 backlink for the money site.

I haven't check the V2 vid yet, so for now each rings that I created got around 17 properties.

So, 3 more rings to go for me. Let's see if I could go back to this thread and share a positive result.

Thanks for the clarification.
But I thought the 5 rings were:

1 branded ring
4 personas

So if my website were Target dot com.

1 branded ring comprising 15 or 20 sites--all with the Target brand
Then 4 personas, Molly, Wendy, Sam, and Siren, each have their own ring of these properties.
Molly has a Youtube channel, a G+, a Facebook, etc. Wendy, Sam, and Siren also have such profiles online.

And they all love Target!
Any time Target posts something on (all) its properties, Molly, Wendy, Sam, and Siren can't help but to share it everywhere.

Do I understand this correctly?

Yes, this is exactly what I'm doing. The only difference is that I'm not creating a persona but instead a brand.

So other 4 rings would be like, Shopping Master, Shop Savers, Awesomeshopping Tips, Savenow Shopping.

Pretty much same process, we're just changing the name to brand-like. Main money site from the report is created this way.

Are people seeing benefit from doing this? I want to know before I take the plunge :)

Woo hoo!
I just added a recipe. Youtube like --> Blogger.
It works!

I liked a Youtube video (not one of mine, just something I like),
and it embedded the video on my Blogger!

Yup ran into this exact issue a couple years back. You gotta be super careful with your anchors and so many other "patterns" that leave a footprint. Is good for passing link juice. Works even better if you list the links in a Google+ profile.

@MisterF

If you use it otherwise, it is huge pattern.

I consider ifttt failures as the random link elements a campaign should have. Some triggers fail. Most fail, so it appears random.

But I dont trust random.
