Hey dudes,

I got accepted ~half year ago and sold 10 shirts? I decide to idle the account because I was unable to scale and dont have the time to really scale.

I work fulltime and its just a hobby to design shirts but without keywords, trends and stuff...

Are there any ppl who made good $ using Merch by Amazon? Even if I am just T2? I think for newbies its hard to really make profit oof MBA. Maybe its better to invest time and money to other projects.

Tools which I need to check I guess:
1) MerchInformer
2) Reddittracker

Else I dont see any positive points... I design myself so mb I should give it a try to invest 10-20$ to test it before I get kicked.

What you guys think about MBA? IMO there are too many accapted designers and copycats to make a real brand. The only solution is to design 10 shirts for one keyword and trend and delete all if a new trend is coming.

I have the same question.
Just think: if Merch By Amazon accepted 10000 designers, each of them uploaded 100 designs - 10000 X 100 = 1000000 designs. I.e. according to the minimum calculations just only MBA has one million designs that compete with each other. And don't forget about other Amazon platforms, Ebay, Etsy, POD platforms, Chinese suppliers, Shopify stores, brands and retail...

United States population 2018 is 326 millions. Subtract from this newborns, disabled population etc. How many potential buyers remain? And how much they need shirts per month?

There is too much competition here.

Both of you have the wrong mindset and overthinking it.

Unless you are in an exceptional profession like astronaut every fucking job has a lot of competition. You should not even worry about competition, competition means it works.

How about focusing on being more creative and better than the competition? Cuz believe me, if there is one profession that is getting increasing competitive each year it's internet marketing.

competition means it works
If this competition is not caused artificially. When you hear about POD platforms on youtube, Google, Amazon you want to try it because it cost nothing. Especially if you unemployed designer (there are a lot of them in the world).

@pip I guess I have to try the German market since there is not that much of competition. I def will not make that much money but better than nothing.

I heard that people in Germany are not very much like shirts with slogans. Not sure about that so
Therefore you should do your own research to find a good niche in this market
