Very impressive Leith. I remember I was a client with you for a little while a few years back. It didn't end up well (because of my own lack of knowledge) and I demanded a refund, you gave it which I still appreciate right now. I hope you can forgive my ignorance

I used to get C&D's and trademark infringement notices all the time but since I was hosted offshore I didn't have any issues.

I am still struggling with my work but learned so many good things from your writing. Really appreciate the way you explained everything here.

Wow @Leith , awesome interview dude. I am 28 years and feel like I lack behind.. Probably first saw SEO online 8 years ago, but didn't do anything with it. I was lazy in my early 20's. (and wasted a lot of time learning useless stuff in university).
Some questions I have:
- What do you mean with sites that are not reviews? Besides informational sites, what other sites could you do?
- I am ''OK-ish'' in SEO, what's the best way to be a rockstar in it. (I know, general questions just curious what helped you with SEO over the years).
Honestly SEO is what I love and I will keep doing this as well.

I went to Uni for less than a year (mainly to secure myself a degree) but eventually realised I couldn't possibly stand 4 years of it. I missed all my lectures, only went in for seminars and still aced first year exams
To be honest, asides from the social experience to University, I didn't see much point attending when I could be focusing on my business in that time.1. There are thousands of generic affiliate sites that don't provide much value outside of the reviews. I was referring to informational sites that also contain value, excluding the review articles. Instead of just building another typical affiliate site, build a brand.
2. Honestly, I've put in a lot of time into reading and experimenting. That's about it really. I guess you could say I was lucky since in 2009, SEO was a whole different landscape... nowadays it's far more competitive and may be offputting for newcomers.

If someone asked you who your idols in business are, some common answers would be famous billionaires (Steve Jobs, Bill Gates..) but for me my idols/inspiration are the other successful digital marketers killing it in our industry.
