I've sold my Balenciaga shoes to some dude in France; I showed him a video before sending just to make sure everything was ok. Once he received he complained about not having the receipt even though he never once stated that he wanted it to be shipped or even asked. So to make up for this i showed him the PayPal invoice and he said everything was excellent, then a few days later he starts asking again about more rubbish so i show him the email Balenciaga sent me. Now a few more days later he's turned up saying he's going to ask his friends in a Facebook group chat if they're legit or not even though i've sent him everything he's asked for. My issue is if he charges back who will win? He can't change his mind a week or so later after having the shoes and wearing them as they was brand new.

If you know how to resolve this please add my discord dxn#7504

Save the tracking for the package and also a prtscrn from the conversations were you sold and all and 98% you'll win it if dipsute will be filled.

Done that before and paypal have declined in the past. The tracking is placed on paypal, all the conversations are through paypal.

I'd first wait and see if he actually disputes, from the sounds of it I'd say he's just fishing for a partial refund. He's hoping if he bugs you enough you'll offer a discount to make him leave. If he was going to start a dispute, he probably would have done it by now. I've sold on eBay for nearly 20 years, he sounds like a typical pain in the ass customer but not one that disputes.

I'd put my money on him providing some sort of "proof" that it's fake, probably one comment somewhere on Facebook, and then asking for 50% off or something like that as he still really likes the item but doesn't think it's worth the full value since some random guy on Facebook said it wasn't legit.

Actually he can. You seem to have previous experience with PayPal disputes, so you do know that's not true.

I think you'd be stuck in a middle ground, though it does depend if he files the dispute through PayPal as INAD or Counterfeit via his card issuer. I think you'll be forced to take the item back as tracking and screenshots do not prove the item is legit (he did not explicitly state at any point that the item was legit). So you're basically beginning at INAD and getting worse depending on how he disputes, which usually means you're taking the item back and giving him a refund. PayPal won't care if he used the item, to PayPal that's juts a cost of doing business and comes with any retail B2C operation.

People don't win INAD cases by showing tracking and a conversation unless said conversation has an admission from the other party that they love the item, it's everything they wanted, etc. etc. Tracking and a conversation only proves the item was delivered, it doesn't prove condition or authenticity of said item, and lacking a receipt you actually don't have any proof it's legit beyond your word. So PayPal is going to side middle ground/slightly buyer and likely require he return the item for refund.

Im pretty sure he's going to say they're fake and if he does then most likely he's going to 100% win wont he?

If he disputes as fake then best case he has to return it for a refund, worst case he would just be refunded. But there's basically zero chance PayPal will side with you and force him to keep the item while you get paid. PayPal doesn't like doing that because if they side with you first, and then he goes to his card issuer who sides with him, PayPal is out the money rather than you as they already said you won the case and could have the payment.

The only exception I could think of is if he used his PayPal balance and has a habit of doing this. Then you might win.

Usually these sort of buyers, when it's sold in the USA, I'll basically scare them into backing down if I know it's 100% authentic. Tell them I'm putting in a report with USPS Postal Inspectors who may stop by and do an inspection of said item and it's mail fraud to falsely claim anything like this... It's 100% bullshit on my part but you give them a legit sounding story that they haven't heard before and they'll often drop it. Being in France, and presumably you're somewhere else, he's probably not going to fall for that sort of tactic.

I've actually never used Discord, I guess I should try it sometime. I'm still one of the old school IRC guys as that's the sort of stuff we used when I was in college and such.

Pop me a message here and i'll reply, tried to do that earlier but i sadly can't access your profile.

UPDATE: The guy has escalated it to a claim after i showed him everything including the Balenciaga authenticity card. How can i win the case? What can i say to get him to cancel the claim?

Some guy just chargedback on me saying my Balenciagas are counterfeit after i sent him the authenticity card. How can i win this or convince him to cancel the case? He's claiming they're fake because a Facebook chat says so...

Threads Merged & Thread Moved

OP, we didn't need a separate squeakquel thread. It's better to keep this stuff all in one thread.

Hi Op,

Have you sorted the dispute? Who won.. can you share your progress with me? i'm in the middle of something quite similar.
