Question about PBN and EUs new privacy laws

Hi,
I am building a PBN and just bought a few domains from GoDaddy. I ordered privacy but they took it away and said that that was no longer needed due to EU's new privacy laws, is that true?

Yes, thanks to GDPR. It's actually one of the neat nuances of the law. Most other registars also won't charge for privacy anymore.

Except for those registrars who offer it as a bundle, for example include it with domain lock and then charge for it.

Don't rely on GoDaddy's interpretation of the GDPR to protect your information, just one vaguely worded email to their abuse department and they'll happily hand over ALL your personal information, including other unrelated domains owned by the same account.

Even if you do go with someone who provides real privacy (NameSilo, NameCheap, Porkbun, etc), other registrars, including Google, can see through it easily, so make sure your 'private' contact information doesn't leave any footprints.

If you register the domain as a company, then your company details will be visible in the Whois without a privacy. So keep that in mind.
