Paid SSL vs Free SSL

Even if you don't handle money yourself, a lot of people recommend EV for ecommerce sites so your customers know it's an actual corporation, not just a throwaway drop-shipping site.

That said, among the major retailers (Alibaba, Amazon, Ebay, Walmart, etc), very few are currently using EV, so the necessity is likely being overstated.

We are using Let's Encrypt for most of our websites and we haven't noticed any problems. Our main website is using EV certificate which actually takes a bit of verification. It's not easy to get it. We are using EV just to show our clients that we are legit and we mean business.

Cloudflare's free ssl works great for me. I'm wondering if I should reconsider.
