Buisness accounts DO limit reach.

I posted a photo after switching to private and it got 5% engagement. Low, but acceptable.

I switched back to buisness and posted another one at the same time next day. It got less than 2.5%. Thats fucking embarrasing.

As a matter of fact this is a record low for me so IG must be particularly agressive with switching back to Buisness. I am at a loss right now because I should be able to monetize the amt of followers I have so I am no longer botting for growth.

I am debating to become a standard accont and focus on making my 33k followers highly engaging again. If I cant make use of 33k then why should I keep going right?

this is not scientific at all. Did you post on the same day of the week at the same time and was the content as good? I doubt it honestly. Still dont buy into this, seems like a conspiracy theory and nothing more

idk man believe what you want but thats my exp. I posted at the same time and same day of the week doesn't matter...whatever boost you get from a different day isnt going to make the difference between DOUBLE the engagement from the other days.

I saw a YouTube video about this from a guy that knows Instagram really well. Can't remember his name offhand, but he said business accounts are limited in reach, and he also said that if you have a business account and switch it back to personal it doesn't matter. The damage is already done.

If I recall correctly, other people have said this concept of limiting reach is B.S. I think there's merits to both arguments, but OP if they do limit reach, and this guy is correct, then it wouldn't matter you switched back to personal page.

minor changes can make huge differences. the instagram algorithm constantly evaluates the engagement rate of a post and if its doing well early on a lot more people will see it. if it was just posted and out of 100 people who saw the post 50 liked it that can make all the difference in the world compared to when only 40 out of those 100 like it.
