Is it even worth to start scraping for expired domains at this time? Isn't everyone who starts now already too late?
I tried DHG. The Auctions scraping is free, which is great as with so many scrapers out there that might be the most useful for newbies.

Here’s a free method:
1. download and install xenu
2. choose a high calibre site with about 50-100k pages in Google index
3. set preferences:
30-50 threads
check external links
max depth 999
4. run a crawler
...it will take about 12 hours to finish
5. export rept to rab separated file
6. filter all url’s with response “no such host”
7. bulk check for availability to register
8. bulk check all available domains for backlinks
