If you like value your privacy, you should not take any EU based wallet like blockchain.com, as changes are around the corner here.
My long term holds are on a cold wallet, as hot wallet I use cryptonator.com. These had some bad press in the beginning, but are very reliable now, feature important security features (which are especially convenient if you use telegram) and are based in HK.
Oh and never leave your funds on exchanges.

Yepp you can use electrum to store and do transactions. Although, I would probably use a hardware wallet if I had to store large amount of coins.thanks all for the fast replies, such a great forum.
