Is MacBook worth?

Hey folks, I’m thinking In buying a MacBook Pro, but I’ve been thinking if it’s worth or not. I have an iPhone since 2 years now and I was against Apple products until I tried the IPhone and liked it since then. I currently have a Windows laptop and pretty much it’s a gaming computer. It tends to get full of crap after some time and to slow down (even with SSD). Gaming been taking a lot of my time and I’ve been thinking in switching to the MacBook (Mac OS) for productivity and because it’s a awesome design. So, do you guys think it’s worth? Thanks for the input.

Definitely worth it.

Here are the changes I experienced after switching to Macbook.

Increased my productivity 10x.
Super Fast boot/sleep from wakeup time.
The keypad layout makes typing a lot faster.
Increased backup time - My MBP battery easily lasts 9 hrs on a single charge on normal browsing and about 6 hrs when I have a bunch of IDE's open for coding and testing.
As a music fanatic, I simply love the MBP's audio chip. It can easily drive any audiophile headphones if you have one.

The keypad layout makes typing a lot faster - the Mechanical keyboard is your friend for this (obviously external). MSI and ASUS have good keyboards on laptops.

For the price of 1 macbook you can get 2 laptops which are better in specs ... now you decide ;D
 
No. It's not worth it, instead you should switch to Linux on a decent PC. I'm at school so I'll finish this post in a bit
 
mac was always good for music and image editting otherwise useless my opinion

when your warranty run out your need to send it to a autheries mac dealer to work on .

no one allowed to replace parts with a mac got to be mac autheries .

as you can imagine cost is very heigh.

they don't sell parts unless your authrised with mac .

stupid i no just be warned .

All my desktops and laptops are running on SSD but they can't beat the MBP's performance. My MBP is NVMe powered. You could still argue like you can install NVMe drives on latest laptops.

There's more than just price/performance ratio on MBP's than the ease of use and comfortability. I too was once arguing like you before owning one. You'll have to use it to experience the difference.
 
Definitely worth it if you can get used to their OS.
 
there nothink wrong going to a library and trying a mac for a the hours or a public collage .

it a diffrent ball game a mac , got to get use to there ways the mac ways .
 
If you can afford it, go for it! I love my MBP way more than my desktop PC. It's great to work on it, although heavy thinks like rendering or gaming are better on the PC.

You realise that most SSDs in laptops are NVMe now right? You will not notice the difference between a quick SSD and a fast SSD, the difference is imperceptible except for some extreme use cases.

The lack of software ecosystem is something that would really piss me off. Funnily the thing that is a major selling point of the iPhone is a major downside on their PCs.

But is it like a software that is compatible on Windows OS only also can be run on parallels considering we are on a mac?
 
Well worth it.

No idea why anyone would buy windows laptops anymore. I bought an MSI windows gaming laptop for £2k, apparently this shit was the best ever for gaming. Superfast etc.

It turned out to be an absolute load of shit just like every windows laptop or computer I've used over the last 6 years of using Macs.

I returned it a week later, and continued with my iMac, macbook pro and macbook air.

My gaming friends swear by windows, and laugh at mac, but when they see I load into games 10x quicker than them on my iMac they always comment, "how?"

Macs all day, anyone who says hasn't used a mac for long enough.

Windows UI is ugly as hell too, iOS is beautiful

Being a programmer and running a bunch of VM's all at the same time and occasional 4k editing, my MBP handles it all like a breeze. I can't expect the similar experience on a Windows laptop unless it costs the same as the MBP if not more for its specs.

I too was baffled up initially while setting up the MBP but now I have all the softwares to manage my workload. I can't find an alternative to Keyboard Maestro for Windows and I use it extensively. Makes my life a lot easier.
