Has The SENUKE site been hacked?

I've had the sality virus before, and it definitely sucks ass. the bad thing about me having it, though, was that it wasn't on my virtual box. :( I wasn't sure where it came from, but after I formatted and reinstalled Windows, I installed Kaspersky. ;) Regarding the Sality virus....it relicates itself into every executable file on your computer that it can...even those on seperate drives. It's almost impossible to just 'get rid of it' without a clean install.

Hope that helps.

The sality virus infected my non virtualbox vista installation :( And I can't friggin get rid of this shit so I'm managing to cope with it lol.. I don't have the time to format et. al.. And even if i had I wouldn't do that.. I'd just install AVG in my linux installation

Hope you guys can get your shit cleaned up I know what a pain it can be.

Far as Snuke goes I think I'm keeping my money as to me they should have known better and showed gross negligence not protecting their members and traffic from something like this.

When you're getting that much publicity and what not you're gonna have those that want to bring you down. If it was done once it'll likely happen again.

Just don't think I want their stuff on my PC now.

It can happen for everyone...just relax...they've mailed people in their newsletter about the whole thing and explained...although I think that "security team" really sucks.. :D It was probably some exploit because of unpatched software...

guys, don't take it too far, senuke is some incredible piece of software IMO. install avast/ZA, and use gnu pdf... as I read somewhere, pdf exploit has only ONE time before this appeared. I agree they should really work now on their wp.

No that simply a lame public relation strategy to avoid mass cancellation.
Luckily I am not infested.

Senuke is a good product, no argument here.
But the developer had a responsibility to protect members, and they obviously failed.

Well the eFFFFing virus - I don't know what it is - has just reset my laptop to the generic "rolling fields" on the startup screen! A combination of abject anger with SENuke and being completely sick to death of this laptop - major probs with it - means a new for me.

So I'm gonna run all my shit software on this old laptop and use my new one for sensitve stuff like banking and my CPA accounts!

Bitch!

Any thoughts from you guys about keeping my new laptop as secure as poss? Bearing in mind that I did have ZA, NOD32 and Malwarebytes running on this old thing and it STILL got trashed! :(

Try Comodo Firewall instead of ZA.

And that SENuke virus got through all that protection without giving you any warnings at all? That's a real bum deal.

Just keeping your pdf, flash, quicktime up to date along with Windows/Media Player will render a lot of these drive by attacks useless.

Instead of piling on more shit security products, first thing to do is download Secunia PSI and patch all the holes and get your stuff updated. Then look at Sandboxie and setting your browser, pdf and flash etc as forced programs. I don't even have antivirus and have no hesitation opening the Senuke site.

Great, thanks just plugged a couple of holes and am now looking at Sandboxie!

Really appreciate the help, cheers!

Sorry you got hit but using two separate pc's like that is a good thing and what I do as well.

When I had to deal with this months back after my research here I decided on Kasperksy and love it.

I found a site with a 3 PC license for less than $27 including shipping of the CD. Decided good to have actual CD if crap happens again.

This deviates a bit from this thread but because I got a PM regarding kaspersky I thought I'd just post it here if anyone else is interested in 3 user license.

I did a search on goog for "KIS 2009 3 license" and found it for $29.99 including shipping.

First result is

That's not where I ordered from but cant find the site I bought from right now. Mine also came with free upgrade to 2010 version but I'm sure they all do. Anyway..likely reason for discount is it's 2009 but so far so good. They have a decent enough user forum as well.

NOW - back to our regularly scheduled program already in progress...

Is the senuke site still hacked? Can any of you guys that use the program give an update if everything is fixed, because right now I don't have an antivirus on my computer and don't want to risk it.

Thanks.

From what I can see, it looks ok right now! But I'm at the point where I don't worry too much about it because I've got my new laptop and there's no way I'm running SENuke on it - gonna keep it on the old one.

At the end of the day you're gonna have to decide whether to hook up SEnuke yourself really!

But I've been using it today and it 'seems' ok!

I wondered too about why he had no virus checker on his computer, but then I had all that shit and the SEnuke still nuked me!

Still though, I'd get some shit on to at least make an attempt at protection!

wonder how that can be... maybe this should be your 1st priority? avast is free, get it..

I have been running it since the day it got hacked every day and never had a problem.

Registered today for SEnuke and the setup.exe, instalation program, is still infected. I think I will unsubscribe until they fix the problems ... or they are the cause of infection???

just noticed this old thread - please make sure you scan your computer with a GOOD and up-to-date antivirus.
the Russian flavor of the .pdf + iframe attack I encountered installs a packet sniffer on top of your tcp/ip, which leaks your FTP credentials to a remote server. the remote then connects to your ftp server and infects any index.php index.html file, adding the iframe code to load the .pdf on visitors files.
if you have given anyone FTP access to your content, beware.
using ssh to connect to your servers (winscp) can offer an additional protection.
I had one cpanel account attacked, took around 4h to clean everything, restore files from backup etc. I might be wrong, but I think I had dowloaded the file from here - being a lot more careful with Adobe Reader ever since :-)

@OldMadHatter, you got that virus from simply accessing the SENuke site? Or was it from using SENuke itself?
