How you sell Instagram management services?

All the pros here that managing 500 ~ 1000 Instagram account for clients, how did you started to get your first 10 clients, WITHOUT going to friends or family?

I've been starting my own SMMA business for about 2 weeks or less, I've been spending like more than 10 hours a day to try to send cold emails, cold DMs, cold Messenger, (I did not cold call as I believe most people in our country don't like to be cold call, so I usually try to ask them if they willing to talk to me before I call.)

I believe I've been reaching out about more than 1000+ people now with my partner, 95% of them just read and never reply, 4% of the replied just stop replying somewhere in the conversation, 1% did talk, by the end we only got 2 clients so far.

We still doing cold email, even considering hire some guy to help us doing the cold email. Our sales process is simple, we send out short message ask if they interested to gain more social awareness, then we try to get them talk with us on phone, because we can catch their emotion and talk them into subscribing more easily, 2 clients that became client talked to me on phone, there's 2 more still waiting for reply, 1 rejected when we say the price at the end.


We tried Facebook/Instagram Ads, didn't work, lots of kids came to us, they are usually just started their small business trying to sell some stuff on Instagram and clearly can't afford to pay.

We also tried influencer marketing, by asking micro influencer to shoutout for our services, worse, more kids that want to become famous on Instagram came PM us...

What are you offering them in value?

What is your service? Do you have a website?

You need to focus on local B2B

Focus on all the little business in your local area that lack social media presence.

From that trendy new cafe down the street, to the hottest new vintage second hand clothing store across town.

Send out Snail Mail campaigns, make some cold calls, visit in person, place a flyer with your services on the front door when the business is closed.
So that the owner sees it when they open up the next morning.

Social media management is at its peak!

Promote on telegram groups which offer paid ads/classifieds ads.

Do i need to make it a legal business? Do i have to pay taxes from my income? These are my questions. On one side, nobody would notice an influx in my funds, on other the business whose account i manage would need to declare their spendings .

Depending on your Country...If in USA then yes, a Tax ID will help. Uncle sam loves IM money

^I agree with the local biz approach, that should be your playground more so than pitching to someone across the world who won't ever meet you.

Also, if your current approach/pitch isn't working, change it up and experiment. That's the key to finding what works.

It looks like you found yourself great customers that are 'kids'
Make a product for them, make it cheap and let them know its a step 1 (of a 100 or 1000)
Once they see small result they will shake their parents to continue with your service

This for sure! This is how I've been getting my accounts, all through mutual connections and word of mouth in my area. Build your network before you make money on the social network

A 5% response rate from a cold email selling something is actually pretty good.

It is the second part of your model that is failing...

How you convert those 5% that are prospects into customers.

So you need to work on your sales funnel / closing techniques.
