I want to sell grocery items in ecommerce site but how can i get less price because i have asked to some distributor & wholesalers but they are giving me the exact price which is already the same selling price in online sites so how can i get cheaper ?? From where ?? Please please help me out for this i am seller from india

Look for local suppliers (who do wholesale) or ask for higher prices with higher volume.

Thing to keep in mind is these are low value items, often quite heavy to ship. You'll need to get weights to be able to calculate shipping costs.

Set a minimum order value too.

Talk to local growers for fresh produce and wholesalers for other items. If using woocommerce you'll need to set shipping classes, use this free plugin https://WordPress.org/plugins/flexible a shipping. Don't use the one from woo it's expensive.
Do you have any shops you could partner with locally? You build and run the site, they use their stock.

I'm not in India so can't really help. If you look on Google for suppliers of ;

Overstock
Short life stock
Bankrupt stock

See what that throws up for you.

Are you planning to sell on own eCommerce website ?

Then you need to know about the current marketplaces running. They got deep pockets, are selling in loss to capture consumers in hope of profit in future. Others are funded by someone else. Are you ready for this ?

I would say, get out for a month and visit places like Gujrat (Dinnerware), Bihar (Foxnuts, Jute), Rajasthan (handicraft/Spices) and connect with suppliers there. Do not go with calling them or following what they have listed on websites. Rates will fluctuate with different places. For instance, one KG of Lotus seed prices at 1100 INR, Add some spices and branding, people are selling this easy stuff for 1500 INR, the same stuff you can buy for INR 500 from Bihar (Largest produces for foxnuts). This is an example only. Do not go to China for grocery because of Local wins in this sector.

Do not go with prices listed by vendors and dealers, tap the actual producers.

Yeah, listing on big marketplaces reduces half the effort of setting up and promoting your own stores. If you are low on capital, go with FBA or as a seller on some established marketplace. However, if you have enough funding for running a solo business, then think about own setup.

Not from/in India so cannot address any specifics.
- Most suppliers/wholesalers require a certain order quantity before they even serve you, let alone for better pricing
- Have you asked actual suppliers or was it another distributor/middleman that already inflated prices?
- Do you plan to sell online for pickup or shipping? Groceries is a true challenge, most you have even in the US are pickups for online orders and then there is Amazon. Not sure how this is in India but why would they buy from you, even at the same price as in the store. Assume you need to charge shipping, then you could not do any refrigerated items...

Think of your value proposition first before you just aim to get a lower price, as you still may have issues convincing people why to buy from you.
