Need advice, I scammed people

You didn't scam anybody. You didn't exactly take their money and spend it on yourself, you were legitimately developing what was promised and it failed. These things happen more often than you think.

I'd keep it running as a failed platform so they can see that it isn't working, idk. Unless you can't even afford to keep it running.

If everything was anonymous and nobody knows it was you, then you shouldn't get into any sort of trouble.

If you read back though, the OP mentions his government doesn't allow crypto and all this malarky, so just how legal was it to set up, would be my question?

If you read bacl though the OP mentions his government doesn't like lending platforms. Not really sure if it is forbidden because still tens are up

well after 8yrs I made an account, I deserve respect
I don't need your respect. And at the same time, you don't have the right to insult as well just due to newbie tag because you have senior tag. Got it? Last time I decided not to reply further, but now I will answer each and everyone who thinks he is smarter just because registered long ago. And read before you post, that why I said so. Don't just quote a single message and try to be smarter. Also no where I said that I need your respect. Don't play with words.

What about VIPs with banned tag? No matter whether your are junior or senior, I really respect everyone (except those always teasing). The most important Reason according to me is the journey part(my favorite one)where we learn more about how to rise after failing many times and it always inspires me. That's why I love this forum and all members. But to be honest, I hate those always teasing newbie to have a tag newbie.

I sorta, maybe scammed people, guise help. lulz.

If you're gonna do the nasty, OP, then go all out like Jordan Belfort. Why apologize in a mild manner? Might as well make it look like it wasn't your fault and that they were the ones who simply failed.
Why bother whining about it in a plebeian manner? Not encouraging you to actually scam people, but what's with this "omg, i can get in trouble for something I probably shouldn't have done"?

You dun goofed. How do you respond now?

Investments are risky, if your plan was actually legit and not to run with money in the first place, then they just made a bad investment by believing in your project. Losses taken, move on for both sides.
If you knew it was going to shit and still accept investments or if you went in for the money from the start then yes you scammed and should pay them back and apologize.

Respect is earned by proving one's value to the community, not demands. This is how online communities have worked since the earliest days of the BBS, and it will continue to work that way well into whatever technology eventually replaces forums and social networks.

I'm not saying I necessarily agree with the practice, but it's just how the game is played, and you're not going to overturn 30+ years of momentum with a few anonymous forum posts.

Investing into an ICO needs very narrow and detailed research from the investors side. DYOR they say and that for a reason.
So if you all have no clue how to operate such a business, the investors did a big mistake as well, like not researching your team for capabilities.
See, many people have ideas to run a business - and very often they don't have the slightest clue of doing this successfully.
In my opinion, it is the investor's fault for blindly throwing money due to a current frenzy.

Just do what highrewardcoin did.
Don't launch a lending platform
Put the HRC coin on the free crypto exchange: etherdelta

You scammed if you runaway, give good reason and give fake blueprint strategy make them believe their money not gone, and you sd thinking how to refund asap..at least they will give you time, didnt you note your finance??

It seems like a crowd invested platform. In that case I was told that investors mainly invest for the passion of these things, they do not expect a profit or share out of this. You may look at the legalities, and use that in an email to address the risk factor in such a business model of which they invested. With this risk as being there may be "no guarantee" in success. Be genuine, and explain what went on.

Hello all,

So straigh to the point.
I started a lending platform ICO together with a friend.

We knew this was a hype so we developed a platform, erc20 token etc.. etc..
We putted money in promoters and then the ICO started.

Since we had 0 experience running a platform everything went to shit.

The amount we raised comes close to $40.000
Now allot of that is gone to marketing, developers etc....

Now the total hype is gone and there is no way in earth we can continue with the platform, almost no budget left, hype gone etc...

Now basically, did we scam all those investors? Or is it on both hands since they risked money in a high risk lending platform.
I feel fucking bad about knowing people invested in my project and it did not work out.

I dont know what to do, I dont have all the funds to refund investors.
I dont know what to fucking do.
Just end the platform, remove the website and leave people with a loss.

...fuck

Advise please.

And YES I do know we should never haver started this if we were not able to run it, please do not explain, we understand.
As many others have said, you will know best. Scamming would mean you already intended to just run with the money, whereas just failing the business is usually not considered a scam. Now,m there are of course further details and you could have acted recklessly if you continued to accept money after you knew it won't keep working (if you did not then scratch that).
Sounds like this would be better answered by a lawyer though than on a forum. This way you have actual advice that is relevant to your country's laws.
Good luck

Actually what comment do you want to hear?? you already post it here using a new account, pfft... thats already show what intention you have

Theres always TOS on every site, so this investor or your client must be aware there's always a risk when invest in crypto..so

This is the worst part about the older members here I hate the most. Just because you joined few years back doesn't mean you are also more respected than every members tagged with newbie.
FYI, I am following this forum since 8 years now but never been so engaged before. Everytime I tried to type something, it said to create account and I am too lazy for that. But this time I saw a journey and can't resist myself to register. If there were an option to post as a guest member, I might never registered here.
If your too lazy to do a simple sign up prompt,

the lord knows how lazy you will be to start or complete a JV

your logic is horribly flawed
