yes i stated that in my post. but a link is a link. yeah it may not be targeted, but its still a vote for your site, and on low competition keywords this actually works pretty well.

not all links are created equal, learn to use some of the more fun toys xrumer has and ull get just as good stick rates with links with anchor text

This trick was already posted here a while back.

Using a smiley as your backlink will only pass Link Juice (If ********) but will not get your SERPs rising. If you are focusing on traffic, then this method will not work out for you. If PR is your main focus, then this should work pretty well.
