At the beginning of the year, you could buy FB page likes for 1 dollar per 1000 followers. Now it seems like the cheapest option is 4-6 dollars. Anyone know what happens? Just curious :D

Law of supply and demand? :) A lot of people need likes now more than ever.

The sad thing is that I bought likes and then all of a suden they started to disapear. And not just once, even organic likes that I had were just gone. I am never buying again.

If you use FB ads to find new followers, then you would pay much more than just a buck for 1000 followers. A few weeks ago I spent nearly $40, and I got only two new followers that liked my page. I could go cheaper with some SEO agency, but then I would get fake followers, and I wanted to avoid that.

Dude what were you doing to get only 2 likes? No offence, but you need to review your ad campaign... is your niche super tiny? Sounds like your ad campaign is way off... i dont know... no offence just thinking out load for the entire world to read...dang!

Supliers have hard time creating accounts for FB to deliver fake likes, i guess thats what making price to increase. There are too many restrictions and high security on fb. Now in my opinion its almost useless to build fanpages on fb, someday even if you reach big number of followers you have to pay to boost posts.. organic engagement is disaster and so low. Maybe its still good for some niches or people who are experts in this but for majority i dont think so.. If you have your own good products, business or service you want to promote on fb use the fb ads, pay them for traffic and make profit ( i know some company owners in fashion industry who are very happy with this and driving many sales/clients to their business ) .. forget free and organic traffic its worse and worse on every social network

Some mentor coach might be telling them to charge high. Not good for the clients just starting up.

Other way round, there's less suppliers now. Facebook banned a lot of accounts and is making it harder to create new ones.
Also, inflation. People need to create new software for Facebooks updates, labour rate is more expensive than a few years ago and people costs to run software and services.

How to avoid being banned by facebook if I want to own more accounts?

You can't create or run facebook accounts using proxy. You have to use lte connection and it cost to much.

Never buy Facebook likes. I've done that before a couple times. It's just worthless, and doesn't make sense. There are some legit ways though. You can contact a page owner in the same niche and make a share for share deal, or do legit Facebook advertisement. So anyone who would like your page is legit following you. When you buy likes, 99% of them are fake, they just like your page using some bot, and you get nothing. Even the legit ones you already did have wouldn't see your feed (I don't know how that works). Conclusion: Never buy likes.
