Can no longer create apps without a developer account, but any existing ones will still function for the next few months

And from what I hear the developer application is pretty strict and will require a lot of information to make sure it doesn't break any rules

+ the usual daily limits will be unique to one key only...No more using the same one for multiple accounts

Are we doomed?

Nope we are not doomed. Lots of bots work and will continue to work outside of the API.

I use TwitterDub which absolutely requires the API for the magnitude of shit it allows you to do

I also have Twitter Money Bot and Tweet Promoter which function without the API, but they aren't really built for amount of accounts and actions I need my accounts to preform...

I've never had FollowLiker, but I'd assume that's going to be one of the ones taking a hit too? I've seen the features of that and couldn't imagine that working the way it does without using their API

Wh else is out there? I'm preparing in advance

You know, after all these new rules started to work lots of Twitter users lose lots of subscribers that were bots. But the thing is that there are still lots of them. Any rules have weak sides, so let's see.

Everything is being updated to automate the website. The only things that are not going to be possible to move are the STREAM / WATCH modules, that do not exist on the website as the API was sending instant notifications of those events.

Pretty much all actions are done, just coding the searches now. All being well a test version will be ready end of today / tomorrow.

If there was ever any missing functions / options you always wished the program had, send me an email and maybe can squeeze them in

Looks interesting. I have an old twitter dev account from years ago. will see if it works

I *think* this is a new thing. If you had a big enough legitamate app, twitter reached out to you. Otherwise, everyone else needs to request new developer status which includes basically writing an essay on why you want to write an app, what you are going to do with it etc etc

Just gives more incentive to automate outside the API IMO.

You probably got the email yesterday that went out (assuming you had a licensed version :S ) but the program no longer uses the API and does everything via the website now (not browser)

There are a lot of threads about Twitter like this one these past days.
When something stops working people always adapt to the situation. Just try to do it more quickly than others. ;)

Yes, of course I have a license :D

Sorry for the late response. I barely even check BHW nowadays, but I've been reading your support forums. I downloaded the update and everything is running just as smoothly as ever before

Many thanks for fixing it so quickly! Big fan of your work!

Just applied for a developer account. Lets see if they will approve my account or not.

It wouldn't affect much though, I doubt any good bot out there would use their API :D
