Hey BHW,
I realize the work you put in is the result you get (at least the majority of the time).
I'm going to be traveling to Europe for a couple months, would like to go often.
Anyways, my question is there potential still on these freelance websites? I do Wordpress Websites, I'm pretty good & my support game is strong. Is it possible to get consistent gigs on these websites?

If not, any alternatives? (mod edit: not outside of the freelancer sections)

Hope to get some intelligent insights...

Thank You

I have a friend that is currently living from upwork ( $800ish a month), but I think it all comes down to how good are you at your craft and how you market your skills.
It's completely possible in my opinion if you do it right.

It is very risky thing to do.

OP, you can make good money for sure but do not rely completely on these.

I'm currently doing about $250/month on Fiverr.
A few years ago, I did $1k/month on Upwork.

So yeah, it's possible, depending on what you've got to offer.

Thing is I made 4$ on Fiverr once about two years ago from a customer. No one ever needed my services again. UpWork? Disaster, no one hires me. Freelancer is obviously oversaturated now to make even 1$ out of it...

Trying to make some money on the side as my wage is currently a mere 900$ per month and I work full time. So I feel what you're saying man, it's a though world...

Not a fan of UPWORK. any service that forces you to sign up to even look at anybody is a shill.

fiverr.com is an experiment for me at this time. Broken system I've found and not even showing the ad I made currently.

I can tell you about upwork: you really can earn good money there. But you should be a good specialist. There you can find 50$/per hour and even more..(have seen 100$/per hour) So, depends on you!

is there a way of working with someone who gives you sites to design? and they pay you piece work?

People buy anything from Fiver, it's just something that people fuck around on so even drawing a terrible cartoon will get you a few $ every so often

I did my first website back in the day on freelancer.com and I still work with that guy today. I have had him on every project for last 20 years. We have built some big systems together now. I wouldn't under estimate the power of good relationships that you can find on there. It's been very profitable for both of us.

great to hear that. im on the journey...

Fiverr & Upwork are great places to start making money online - However you should come up with a clear plan to those networks to take your customers outside of the platform. because when you are working on those platforms, they are not your customers - they're the platform customers. so if the platform will shut down your account one day for any reason - you will still have your customers in hand.
Build a healthy business relationship with your customers so they will always prefer to come to you first. always provide more then what you got paid for.
