German backlinks report tool? Ahrefs?

Hi everybody,

what is your experience with moz, ahrefs, ... considering german backlinks/your german moneysite? Do you see all backlinks?

How complete are the reports? Here: https://www.matthewwoodward.co.uk/experiments/ahrefs-majestic-seo-1-million-domain-showdown/ backlinks discovered rate is (relative to GWT) up to 50%, so max half of the links are visible (and yes, GWT doesn't show all, sure).

Which numbers do you see on your german sites?

I have never had any problems with other language based websites (I have never worked with a German specific language, but I have done it with other languages), what I have done in those cases is to use http://www.linksspy.com to see the backlinks from my competitors, and see how I can get the same backlinks, that gives me a broader range of links that my competitors are using.

If people pay e.g. for ahrefs, then they do it because of the vast amount of backlinks they can discover (honestly, I doubt linkspy is a real competitor, they don't even tell you about their index size). As mentioned above, the huge players have for English sites a pretty high coverage, measured in terms of GWT. But how does this apply for non-English sites? E.g. for german? Do you see a satisfying coverage / number of backlinks?

Ahrefs does not care about the website tld, location and language. It crawls all the web. It may not crawl rather "weak" websites often and thus may not discover backlinks from such websites quickly. But this has nothing to do with a country
However, organic keywords report and traffic estimation are indeed country-specific. And Ahrefs' keyword database size for Germany is #4 out of 170 countries.

You will find pretty complete reports for German. Thats my experience, but do keep in mind Ahrefz stays months behind with any site specially the links update. It is at least few weeks behind if not a month even on english sites
