Couple earning 7k a month from Amazon FBA with 99% traffic from Amazon itself- how?

So I was watching this Youtube video on an FBA Amazon seller trying to sell his business and it just doesnt add up. He's making on average 7k a month with barely any advertising. Can it be that the product is so good that it just sells itself? In the video he says that it's not really a "trendy" item but the biggest risk would be Amazon's regulations on their "listing" and what their product is listed as, so I'm assuming they are exploiting the way this product is listed as? They never explained how they do so well, what makes their product so special.

A bare website with no SEO

I don't know but if I was talking about someone else's site I wouldn't add a video and details, may be just the URL or so. lol

The problem is that there is no way to answer your original post unless you stump up the 5% refundable deposit to see the site URL

For a sale like that you really do need to carry out full due diligence and see what support the seller is going to provide to enable you to take it over.
Any site that actually relies on a 3rd party (Amazon) can be risky, all it takes for one change to their ToS or other agreements and it could kill the business.

I would want to see the full 2year trading history.

It is definitely possible. I make over $5k a month off just my very first item I listed on Amazon. I have never done any SEO, advertising or anything. Maybe I was lucky though because my item went to #2 in search within 2 weeks.

Wow, impressive. Did you do a ton of keyword and market research? Is your item under your own brand name? I'd imagine there's hardly any competition too. I would be grateful for any advice or tips.

I know this is late but I figured I would post to help you anyway since you might check back on here.

It was under the companies brand that manufactured the item, however they were a small time company out of China. I literally listed the exact item I purchased however the category had no items on Amazon and I knew that realistically worldwide more than 1 person would want to buy this item off Amazon per day, so I listed it.

Sure enough, I got sales.
After about a month of fulfilling orders I was the top search for the basic keyword item and I was bringing in profits over $500 per day.

Competition came after I reached the top, once people started seeing my Amazon ranking claim.
My advice would be to definitely have control of the item you are selling so that others can't keep undercutting your price and get the buy button. If its your brand or you have the rights you can stay #1 with no issues for a long time. PM me if you need more info and maybe we can work together on something, same for others. Always looking to generate more income. I have currently generated in the millions of dollars revenue in the past 5 years off Amazon / Ebay / Social Media alone.
