Instagram API Update Tomorrow + Jarvee

Hello,

Instagram is planning on making an API update tomorrow and it say it will affect the following.

The following will be available until July 31, 2018:

• Follower List - to read the list of followers and followed-by users
• Relationships - to follow and unfollow accounts on a user’s behalf
• Commenting on Public Content - to post and delete comments on a user’s behalf on public media

To me this sounds like this will break the "Follow" and "Unfollow" function in Jarvee if it won't be able to scrape the competitors followers/followings, follow/unfollow. Am I right or will everything remain the same?

Along with other reasons, I will be stopping my bot tonight to see how it goes. Might have no effect or is too late but a few lost followers is nbd.

This has been discussed over a billion times here, this change won't affect any big bots as they use private API.

For those that bot, this tells me that those that use services to follow followers, and/or unfollow those that unfollow you, will not be able to do that. This is great since those using bots, and do unfollow, won't get unfollowed unless the user manually sees that you unfollowed them, and then manually unfollow you.

For those that don't know, bots do not use the API. So, any API crap will not affect them.

Private is the one they use in apps and what is not meant for public use. Seems like you use the private API, so you're good

Well, little by little they are dying, but others are popping up. I'm sure Instagram will make it so that it becomes too expensive for the private ones to offer that service. I mean, IG will charge a shite load for access, so it won't be feasible for the apps to provide it for little money. IG wants to control everything.
So, anyone still using an automated system/app to unfollow those that unfollowed, won't be doing it for free. They'll have to pay a bigger monthly fee. Most will let it go, and that should be good for us.

I believe Jarvee does that. But, the settings are your own. You have to tell it who to block. Ones that don't like your post(s) after X days? Not posted after X days, etc.

If you make a mistake, you may block unwanted followers that are not real ghosts.

If anyone knows of a real ghost blocker, I and many here, would love to use it.
